As you see, the OpenGL "renders" have a real problem with hair using detailed transmaps. Aaaannndd ... almost all hair props do !!
The second issue: Your character shows a strange glossy look not to talk about light and shadow (absent). Even a pure screenprint looks better.
"As you see, the OpenGL "renders" have a real problem with hair using detailed transmaps"----- not true, they havent for the last two years why have they just started now, even though i've been using the basic opengl??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean no disrespect, but im wondering if you actually read my posts. wherein i stated that i DONT CARE too much about quality. when you said "The second issue: Your character shows a strange glossy look not to talk about light and shadow (absent) ----(yes, they are because i dont want/need them there). Even a pure screenprint looks better" ---even if a character "has a strange glossy look" i don't care because im happy with it, i just want the hair to look normal, like it has FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. why does this seem so difficult to answer? it seems that we'll never get this resolved, because we'll just keep talking past each other. i guess i could use invidia/3delight (where the image turns out fine--like i've stated previously SO THATS NOT THE ISSUE), BUT DO I HAVE TO? is my question. again i'll say it i just want basic, basic, basic.
I have retested & found that if you use "Intermediate Open GL" and add 1 distant light you get the hair showing & a super fast "render"
Not sure if its exactly what you want but its the only way I can find to get the hair showing
hi. really appreciate your input but its not working, do you know why i cant just go back to basic opengl and render it the old fashioned way, without having to use 3delight or invidia? i used all the parameters you gave me but......
