Wilmap I usually go to you when I want more normal clothing items. Not trying to be insulting, but you have amazing stuff.

The African headscarf was a welcome addition and I would love to see some traditional (not sexified) clothing for different cultures.  Peoplewise, there are plenty of morphs and skins for just about any race and one can make ones own skin with the skin builder (hopefully skin builder for G3F and G3m will be out soon).

Just wondering did any one else think it was weird to see a very nice Hijab marketed on a basically nude model, and not shown with any attempts at simulating traditional clothing at all?

Optitex has a full burkha (sp) and robe for free on their site that might do for the clothing if you really wanted an entire ensemble ;).

  • yes way more variety would be very very welcomed in all areas from the lingerie, bathers, normal clothing, clothing some of you call skimpwear, human/normal characters AND yes non human such as monsters, alien, cyborg/robot, dragon and their like, animorphs and so on hyhoenix brought up some interesting agel and others variations I remembered faintly some of those they mentioned oh there's Raw's EleBeast in one of his promos for that not on the sales page but somewhere else he had him looking like an elephant deity isn't that hindu? Fan of Xena and Hercules shows they had a lot of gods, godesses, demons and creatures could give creators some new product ideas. I keep bugging Raw on new versions of classic monsters. Mytholodgy is a great well to draw from for new creatures so many still untapped. LeatherGryphon brought Babylon 5 that could provide some interesting inspiration for different humoid aliens same with Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who extra not saying carbon copies of them but inspired by them there's a difference. The fantasy games Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 can really inspire creative juices with all the different races armor clothing extra. Ice Dragon Art is right about skinning need more skin textures but unique ones for example sluggy skin where you can see the veins pulsating under the skin and slimy look like the blob  may not be possible at moment probably have to have a geo shell or two  or three with the top layers being transparent. Dragons can't remember who but someone was working on a new hydra which looked really good but would like to see more extreme variety. Know it is not possible at moment maybe not for another generation or two or three but be cool if we had a  humanoid, animalilistic bases designed on the princibles of the super suit type products where we can click on different zones and choose add different appendages easily from a list of different add-ons yeah ok we sort of can do that now true but more in depth would be nice

  • maybe it'd help everyone if mcorr and others posted some image examples of the type of look of what they are referring to in the content they'd like to see made offered here is that allowed?

  • As for angels - there's a reason why they almost ever tell people (in the bible) not to fear them. Most likely they don't look much human, don't look simply beautiful, but dangerous and alien. That's the kind of angel which is missing in this store.

I very much agree. One of the first things an Angel usually says is some version of ' Do not be afraid'.  I would love tools to build powerful beings to battle against the Daz armies of devils, sucubi, vampires, and undead.

Contemplating how to render a giant burning wheel covered in eyes and wings.

I've been in the market for a burning wheel with eyes and wings for a while.... (I write novels about angels....)

It has definately newly increased and I can only guess it's being done by people that hope to capitalize off the gold rush that the game market has caused for people hoping that making their own games will get them rich quick. I can't say that I frown on using monsters in games as the bad guy rather than create war and police games that use humans as bad guys, I'm not into either type of game as the game play itself gets old after a while after you've played them a while.

So we have oodles of DAZ human models with so very little variance but now there may be actually more horror style characters with lots of variance. I mean it was tiresome overabundance last year but all in all it just saves me time as I have to spend no time evaluating those horror models.

  • oooo timmins and dreamfarmer a friend of mine on FB would kill me for forgetting this as she is a big fan but the creatures in the Bayonetta games are angelic in appearence and different not your typical looking angels including stone statue ones which now makes me think of the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. Also the creatures on the God Of War games are interesting too. A lot of games have some interesting creatures as well as Anime/Manga stuff kinda weird we don't see any of that inspired content really make for some interesting renders on a side note read if true that the Goku charcter from Dragonball/Dragonball Z is going to be the theme/mascot for the Tokyo Olympics

Hmmm... Demons, monsters & weapons vs Beach bimbos & Lingerie...   Tough choice! ...   Hmmm, let me think... indecision

i watched a lot of movies with this in my formative years!

It's a vibe I'm getting too, but this stuff mostly seems to arrive together; so it will likely shift to something else, but folks make what sells; one does see othe stuff, and there is still a variety (within Daz's demographic) being produced and released; and folks like to explore their darker side - art in general and not just fantasy and horror is the best place for that. There must be a release I suppose.

And there's that, I have less need for it.

Well, angels, wise-personages etc don't need a new G3F/M-7 character - they can be done with any of the regular characters plus wings and robes. There are enough wings in the store - it's the robes that are less easy for G3F/M - but a retexture of sorceress might work for an angel... The monsters need a special morph/skin, the good-guys tend to look like idealised versions of us.

I prefer stories that challenge our (or at least my) perceptions.

The bad guys look attractive; the good guys, are what fill one's nightmares - their appearance at least.

But personally, I don't like sterotypes; making it easy for me to spot the good and bad guys: what am I, 10?

Sure - but by that same token, you're covered with what's in store ;)

    "Anneka girl-scout and Michael 7-sins"

Sure I can make them anything I want. And I do tend to do that.

I suppose what I 'object' to, is that they look like us, they must be good; they don't look like us, or are ugly, then they must be evil, bad or is some way, not nice.

It's a stereotype that we see everywhere, which is really strange, considering in the real world, all the monsters are human, some more attractive, and some not.

And they probably had scantily-clad bimbos (in lingerie of course) battling demons, mosters etc.

Part of that is how the human mind works.  One of the earliest things our brains learn to do is to identify and recognize human faces.  So even when looking at things that are unidentifiable, our brains TRY to fit a face somewhere to try to recognize it.  As our brains mature and we learn to recognize more patterns, we recognize animal faces, bodies, features, etc.  But we are ALWAYS trying to find human features in what we see.  It's a large part of why humans anthropomorphize things.  We try to relate and percieve things in human terms.

So, when confronted by an 18-foot-tall being that is on fire, with four wings, covered in eyes, with faces that switch from human to ox to lion to eagle, with the body of a lion, that is ON FIRE.....well, it's understandable that the average human would be terrified.  And that's just what they can percieve with their limited senses.  The mind is trying desperately to resolve what it is percieving into something recognizable, and it comes through as a jumble of impressions....all of which are categorized into recognizable things, but they don't match up.

There's a reason why those who were visited by such beings (in visions as well as in reality) are changed by it......many were driven mad.  The human mind isn't really designed to handle that kind of input.  Imagine a thermometer that could read -450°F and 3000°F at the same time.  Now imagine something that actually exists at both temperatures simultaneously.  Our reality says that's impossible.

It's a very similar situation to the 'Lovecraftian' horrors......percieving things that don't fit in our reality is stressful to the human mind, since it tries to fit them into our limitations, fails, and keeps trying.  That's why they break the minds of those who see them.....the mind can't reconcile the contradictions, and breaks from the constant trying in order to stop trying.

The funny thing is that 'demons' are simply those angels of the heavenly host who fell with Satan (not its actual name) in the rebellion against God.  They still LOOK the same.  But they can manifest other appearances, if they so choose.  Most do, as they wish to appear in a pleasing fashion to those they want to decieve.  Most summoning spells in various schools of Magick also include a command/request to '...appear in a pleasing and safe form...' just as a protection for the mind of the Magician who conjures such entities.

Monsters in lingerie with martinis!  laugh

Someone feel free to do a render of such a thing.  haha

You think it doesn't already exist?

Yes, they're at most of the LA parties I go to LOL.

I'm not a fan of horror but got the bundle for everything else and the human version of her. What I am into is sci-fI, and I'd love to see more alien morphs, not just the typical greys, but the ability to make all sorts of imaginary alien creatures and great non- horror but cool alien skins to go with them. I've actually done alien pin-up art LOL. Aliens can be attractive and friendly, (I'm assuming) as well as monstrous or scary. Someone please bring on the aliens!

  • cherpenbeckcherpenbeck Posts: 1,416

How about attractive and hostile, and monstrous and friendly? How about neither, but a race that differentiates as much in her behavior as we humans do?

"Dark Fantasy" ... more goulish stuff ... where was the "Light Fantasy" in between? There was none ... as usual.

I´m mostly passing on the horror menagerie because they fill a little need on my runtime. Give me a creepy extraterrestrial any day to a fantasy/mythological deamon.

Well – there is an exception to that – I could really need a harpy! :)

  • "Dragelle, where are you going with that refrigerator?" *hissing and growling* "Put it back where you found it; civilized people don't do things like that."

the hordes of gouls, succubus, demons, etc. just keeps rolling on .... still no forces of light

  • exstarsisexstarsis Posts: 2,128

You must mean no forces of pretty? 'Cause I look at that add-on pose set and I see a beautiful story about a demon redeeming himself for love. Def. a force of light! So, you know. YMMV.

You might be onto something.   And the thing is they all seem to be variations of something we already have.  Horror and dark themes are great, but please give me something new!

On the positive side we are getting more men and ethnic character types, so six in one hand. . .
