Muscle Car

"Based on an American muscle car."
With the steering wheel on the right.
And the windshield wipers facing the wrong direction.
Sigh...

that's how we have them in Australia
England and Japan as well. But still...
yeah well maybe the creator is from Australia, England or Japan so probably why they made it that way don't know about England but here and Japan have them too so maybe basing it on that
noticed a couple of other things in the promo pics hard to tell as it appears pretty much in the middle of the road but it kinda looks more on the right side of the road we drive on the right also petrol tank on the left don't you guys have that on the right? Slightly off topic got a question for you do you have people over there riding bikes with motors? I don't mean motor bikes/cycles whatever you like to call them I mean push bikes you peddle
but have a motor attatched to them as well they are pretty common popular here basicly home made put together kinda thing
And for some of us who drive on the left, using a steering wheel on the right, it's annoying that so many cars in the Daz store are built the wrong way around.
Latest one are electric bikes

The description says based on American muscle cars so I believe it is an amalgamation of designs the vendor liked. A lot of thought and work went into the exterior, so much so that the interior looks like an afterthought, best to keep the doors closed IMO.
The Interior looks like crap, so It was a no buy for me :(
I think its a gorgeous car and will be very cool for some sci fi renders I have in mind. I don't generally do modern renders so almost never buy stuff for those kind of renders and I have no need of the interior of the car and honestly didn't even look at it. And don't really care lol. I guess it all depends on what you want something like this for. I can easily see it in a render with street drag racing like in the movie Grease, or a high speed cop chase and of course for most pin up shots, you don't really need an interior.
points taken I am from the UK and we do drive on the correct side of the road here
its gonna be one of those things you will either forgive the fact i based the product on what i am used to seeing or you will not and move on.
i have no intention of pulling it to do a left hand drive version but i have taken comments on board which will influence my future projects.
I would have snapped it up in a second until I saw the interior...shame :(

its a shame some dont like the interior and i get it i did try but essentially the interior is there because i wanted stuff to show through the glass. given its a 2 seater car when i was doing the car i didnt think people would be buying it for the interior usage. the next one i do ill spend more time building out the interior. i am listening
Always good to know that a vendor is listening.
Here are some of my thoughts. I dont really mind that the driver position is not based on American design. I do think that it would have been nice to include an optional configuration so that the model would have had a more universal appeal. After all, if you make a muscle car, American auto enthusiasts are going to want to jump all over it. Still, I do see the occasional European vehicle here in the US. It always makes me do a double take when I see the driver on the opposite side that im used to. But the driver position wasnt my main issue with the model. The reason why I decided against the purchase was because there seems to be some relatively low polygon counts in some really noticable areas and some relatively high poly detail in other areas. Because of that, the model, to me anyways, seems like its in a strange place where it dosent fit into the category of being a close up, detailed model and, combined with some super high gloss finishes, is a little overly detailed to be used as a mid-long range model. Thats from a memory usage point of view anyways. Im not a tech guy so I dont know for certain, but thats my impression. Lastly, the interior can only really be described as low poly. What really mistifies me about it is that it looks like you have a glass or high gloss plastic shader over the instrument panel. As all of us with lower end video cards know, glass slows things down at render time. Yes it can be hidden, but why include it if the interior was not really intended to be the focus of the model?
Anyhow, hope that helps. I look forward to seeing your future work.
In Bryce it would take seconds* to turn this into a left hand drive car (i.e. flip the model on one axis). Is this not possible in Studio?
*obviously there would be some more flipping work necessary on textures where visible; so in that case - minutes
...it can be done by just setting the scaling to -100% but that also reverses any text included in the textures. For example Stonemason's Urban Sprawl 2 had a similar issue where traffic signs were facing the wrong way for North America.
So for this car LHD can be achieved very easily, so long as you don't want to look at the interior (well... yeah).
For external do the entire scene and flip the entire thing in POST!
Unless there is a sign/text no big deal at all.
It is how I make LHD into RHD all the time. Just one simple mouse click.
England and Japan as well.
Actually, the only thing that prevents us from transforming it with an X scale = -100% would be the instruments. The outside looks very good, though, and is otherwise reversible.
The only reason that I didn't buy it is that I need modern family cars, not exotics.
that's basicly it I think the ones in your link are more elegant while the ones here as said are homemade adding the motors. LOL oh I noticed I made a mistake in a reply here in Australia as I said our steering wheels are on the right side and I said we also drive on the right :P we actually drive on the left good thing I don't drive. Anyways it is nice to see there are a few vehicles made with the steering wheel on the right for the rest of us and if your doing a scene set down under or in the UK it would look odd having the wheel on the left. Speaking of which Serum you being from the UK are you thinking of doing any English and Australian (or other countries) everday cars and bikes? There are a few high end sports cars, suvs, and such and a few old 1950s cars but was thinking about various Ford, Falcon, Minis, oh and the various cars from the James Bond movies. And my stepfather had vintage British motorcycles Sunbeam, Norton, Triumph
Well, those of us that want normal, everyday things and clothing are told that we can't have them because normal stuff doesn't sell well enough.
Probably the same with cars, since most Studio users probably live in places where the steering wheel is on the correct, sinister side.
thanks everyone for your comments i have internet issues at the moment i will get back to you
I chuckled when I saw the product described as a "Muscle Car", a term usually applied to an American car, but the model itself was obviously inspired by the Iso Grifo. That was made by a low-volume Italian company (although their cars often used American engines).
Example: http://www.supercars.net/blog/iso-grifo-7-litri/
Same here. The car I've used most frequently is InLite's freebie "everyday car", which is a recent-model Volkswagen Golf.

Sorry, it's only a left hand drive model, despite the creator apparently being from the UK.
As others have already pointed out, you can reverse the model on the X scale and as you see below, things you dont want reversed get reversed but its doable.
Red one is standard, gold is reversed
It looks to me like its primary style influence is a 1968 Mustang with a bit of '68 Charger added. The two cars from the famous "Bullitt" car chase.
its a bit of a mish mash of everything its more the idea of one than anything specific
for those wanting a 'normal' car i do have one in the process of being made though it will be a couple weeks yet before i put it into testing as i need to spend more time on the interior since i under estimated how important that is to people (see i do listen)
Well.. a few thoughts... The correct side for a steering wheel is whatever side is the norm for where you live.. I've driven both LH and RH steering and it onlcy got confusing with a stick shift.. and North Americans like their muscle cars a bit more muscular and loud. ...
(fyi, that car model is one I bought up back in 2012 I think, been dying for a chance to use it, thaks for the nudge provided by this thread) and BTW, that's a good representation of a proper GMC 6-71 supercharger sticking out the hood...
England and Japan as well.
I would say that in the world of 3D, the correct side for the steering wheel is where most of your targeted customers want it. Are the virtual worlds in which musclecars are used more commonly left drive or right drive?
Really? i totally made it up with no reference haha
I was referring to the one in mine... Was thinking you could use it as a guideline for the next one... Still, though for a guess, yours does look like it belongs there,,,
