Treesketch to Daz on Windows?

There is a free plant image progam that can export a model in a few formats, including obj.  It is called Treesketch.  It is for IPad, or at least is available in the ITunes store.  I am on a Windows computer but I do have an IPad.  Does anyone know how to get a plant model exported from Treesketch to a Windows machine and loaded in Daz?

Some further info follows.

TreeSketch is a fully featured interactive 3D tree modelling application for your iPad. Creating a tree is as simple as painting on the screen while watching the tree grow into your stroke. TreeSketch is powerful enough to capture a stunning variety of tree forms.TreeSketch exports 3D models to .FBX and .OBJ so they can be used by all major rendering applications.Best of all, its free!

iHad it... Get it... iPad... I had... Megh, that was terrible... The app was great, but friggin Apple decided to remove it from my library when the author didn't update it for one of their (Apple's) stupid updates... From what I understand it worked, but Apple decided to remove it despite that...

I stupidly, or rather naively deleted it to make room for pictures (also annoying because back then I didn't know "deleting" pictures doesn't actually "delete" them, unlike everything else on the iPad, you have to go into your photo album and delete the "recently deleted" folder... Which is super intuitive if for some magical reason you know it exists)... But yeah, deleted a bunch of photos to make room, and when that made no room I deleted TreeSketch and a drawing app (which deleted instantly, instead of going to some "just in case you really didn't want to make room on your pathetically below industry standards memory" folder)... And like two days later from what I gather Apple removed it from their store... I wasn't aware they remove stuff from your library... Even stuff you pay for.

Moral to this rant... Trust no one and back up stuff you like.

    Have you tried ngPlant?

    http://ngplant.sourceforge.net

I think it works through Blender... It sorta does the same thing and is fairly easy to use... I have a version that runs through SketchUp and it makes decent low poly trees... I think the Blender version is more detailed, but TreeSketch was very easy and great for twisty trunks.

lol I shall stick with Carrara which makes awesome trees

I have NGplant too but its a flakey bugger.

    Carrara makes trees?...

You know, I really aught to try it out again... I used to be a Mac user and Carrara was very "difficult" on my machines... I never really got into it because of that, but since I moved to Windows, I should give it another look-see... I have the Pro version (7?) which came before the current one... Got it free with one of the 3D magazines back when you could actually get cool free stuff that way...

    Ah...  the old days...

Oh yeah and FYI... TreeSketch is not in the US store, I think Apple's answer to anyone trying to DL stuff they removed is to make it sound like it's still available elsewhere but for some reason not where you are... Kinda stupid...  Replace disappointment with frustration.

Yeah... Certain mods might be disappointed with me to know that since moving to windows I still haven't put Bryce 7 on my new machine either... Been meaning to... Just get so distracted sometimes...

Thanks for the suggestions.  I have been using the Carrara tree modeler, which is fine for a variety of simple trees.  I was hoping for something with more specialized tools to control the look of modeling a specific species of tree.  Some folks suggested Treesketch.  They must have gotten it before Apple pulled the plug.

Wendy, sorry about the hassle.  I owe you one.  Well, another one.

Yup. All* the trees in my store were made in Carrara. Actually everything was made in Carrara, apart from . . . see below. I'm using a 27" 2011 i5 iMac, and the current release of Carrara works just fine. (it's often discounted and is sometimes reported at or below 20 bucks!). The iMac won't render Iray for toffee though, so last year I bought a Windows box & GPU. Cash didn't stretch as far as a decent monitor, so the Mac is still my primary. But the win box does make a rather nice network render node for Carrara inh between Iray renders!

    * I had a dalliance with Xfrog standalone, and made the apple trees for TAO using it. Xfrog is very powerful, but expensive. The trees are procedural, as are Carraras (they're not inter-compatible), but it's amped up X10. Unfortunately it has a UI out of the ark, and is so unintuitive it makes Blender seem easy to use! It has some nice features, but its leaves are a big let down (Carrara is X10 on that aspect!)

BTW, TreeSketch is not in the UK store either.

Found a related thread on the Bryce forum.  Discusses various plant programs.  Arbaro looks interesting.
