Collada to Daz?

So I have a Collada file, an object with rigging. It opens fine in Carrara... but it looks like abstract art when imported into Studio. I tried saving it from Carrara, making sure it's 'Daz Collada.'
Nope, still looks like abstract art.
Any suggestions? I'd REALLY prefer not to use obj, because then I lose all the rigging.

I have yet to get a collada file to import into DS with rigging intact. I just tried 20 something collada and FBX files to test the supposed new import propeties in 4.9, still no go unfortunately.
It opens fine in Carrara, so I posed the question there. (Mainly, is there any way to transfer a rigged figure from Carrara -> Daz Studio). Here's hoping!
Good luck and I'll check in the carrara forum to see if there is hope. I have tried various ways to export rigged figures out of carrara and not had any luck. Too bad the import/export features in carrara couldn't be implemented into DS. I have re-rigged a few figures in DS that lost their rigging when imported and have had limited results, good enough for background figures, but to many issues to be main characaters
it varies widely
I can get stuff I myself have rigged in Carrara into D|S via collada and some files by other Carrara users like 3Dage.
Never gotten any third party rigging in except makehuman and while it works it does not stick after save.
also zeroing figure needed for makehuman its very dodgy.
