Rendering to .OBJ for element 3d use?

OK so I'm completly new to this and am just starting to play around with it. The reason why I downloaded it was because i needed to create a video opening logo for our movies. I have some expereince using element 3d so i wanted to use that to put it together. I have found a multitude of packs i want to buy and start using but before i spent any money i wanted to make sure i could export this to element 3d.

i used a basic free model with vlothes and hair and eported it to my pc as an .obj file and then tried loading it into element 3d.

the base model went up just fine but none of the elemenst (hair, clothing, etc) loaded. its just a blank white figure.

what did i do wrong? how can i export a fully dressed figure from here and load it fully dressed into element 3d.

As soon as I see I can do this I can feel comfortabl;e spending money to buy all the packs i want.

thank you for your time and help

  • Which application were you using - Daz Studio? All visible geometry should export, though the OBJ material files (.mtl) are not always portable between applications and carry only a sub-set of information when they do so materials will always need to be reworked to some extent. Daz Studio does support other 3D formats (Collada, FBX, and U3D for example) which may suit some tasks better.

  • currently using Daz studio 4.9

I'm thinking I either did something wrong (which is completly possible seeing as i just started learning) or I forgot to include something when I tried exporting.

Is there somewhere that will show me step by step how to export? the tutorials on the website didnt exactly cover what i nneeded.

    thanks
