Very sad day.  Another childhood icon.  The theme song will be with me for a long time.

  • I remember watching re-runs as a child, along with "Rhoda."She reminded me of one of my schoolteachers.  Very sad to hear of MTM's passing.

People are not dying at a faster rate. It's only that the people we grew up with and know are now old enough to reach the end of their lives. I loved Mary Tyler Moore - both in The Dick Van Dyke Show and in her own show. She's been very sick for a very long time. A very funny lady. RIP.

This is true... And its a reminder of our own mortality when people that we watched from our childhood start to pass away.

So sad. I have an elderly neighbor who seems to watch the old Dick Van Dyke show all day long, every day! I'm not sure if she's binge watching on some streaming channel or what, but she has it on very loud and I can hear it when I sit at my computer in the front room. I really don't mind, it seems kind of nice to overhear the laughter and humor of simpler times...

I just saw the "Chuckles the Clown funeral" show the other day. "A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants". Made me laugh all over again ;). Some shows...like MTM, Carol Burnette, MASH...are shows that never get old :).

  • Mary Tyler Moore always had a beautiful smile.  I shall miss that.

    ...aww geez.

I hate getting old because all the cool people I liked since childhood are going away.
