NVIDIA IRAY

When you first start Daz 3d 4.9  in the quick startguide it lets you start a lesson to build and render Elvish Storm.  However in Auxilary Viewport, it says to change the draw style for the Auxilary view port locate NVIDIA IRAY.  However, NVIDIA IRAY is  not listed.  Please Help.

Thanks

Dave

Is this because you do not have a GEFORCE graphics card? I believe that IRAY is not supported on graphics cards that are not NVIDIA.

The viewport display has nothing to do with wether you have an nVidea card or not. Iray can also be rendered in CPU, and the preview also works in CPU mode.

I'm not at my render PC now, I can't make a screenshot, but In your Viewport, located in the upper right side of the viewport window, look for the small ball symbol located left of the dropdown menu that lets you select the camera. Click on the small triangle next to that ball symbol. It will give you a dropdown menu, and the last of the options presented there is Iray.

...............unles you have a 32 bit windows as Iray only works on a 64 bit system.

  • or 32 bit DS even if it is a 64-bit system.

  • Well Darn:  My operating system is 32 bit

Not in 32 bit.  Iray is not there.

Well, that is true, as 32bit doesn't come with Iray, so it naturally can't be in a list to be switched on, as Richard already said.

Wasn't it you that said, it will give you a dropdown menu.  The last of the options presented there is Iray.  I only meant that in 32 bit, there is no last option of  Iray.
