ISO Iray Friendly Hairstyles

Hi! Just starting to get on the Iray bandwagon, and trying to find which hairstyles work best there.
There are 3 hairstyle types I use a lot in 3Delight renders:
-very long, loose hairstyles, mostly on women. I like and use Rhene hair and Misty Veil, not sure how they are going to play in Iray: http://www.daz3d.com/rhene-hair http://www.daz3d.com/misty-veil-hair
-Shaggy but attractive shoulder length men's hair. My go to for this type in 3Delight is Mon Chevalier hair (the first hairstyle I ever bought here) and less commonly Akaste (from r'dosity): http://www.daz3d.com/mon-chevalier-hair
-smoothed down, more or less white-collar professional men's hair, or 1950s pompadour. In 3Delight, I use Preppy Hair, Duarte Hair, Enzio Hair, and less commonly Timeless Male Hair: http://www.daz3d.com/preppy-hairstyle http://www.daz3d.com/duarte-hair http://www.daz3d.com/enzio-hair http://www.daz3d.com/timeless-male-hair

I've used several V4 hairs in Iray, and they've all worked out well. Some may need opacity cut-out adjustments to make the transparencies look their best, depending on the hair used. What really makes the difference, from my inexpert experience, is the shaders. I highly recommend picking up one of the hair shader sets (I have UHT2 from here and Out of Touch's set from Rendo).
Thank you much! UHT is even on sale right now :)
On the opacity cut-outs, is it more of a trial and error thing determining which setting to use, or is there something you find yourself doing to most hairs when you set them up for Iray?
It's not something I've personally had to do, but I've seen examples of it in the forums. Usually I just apply the Iray shaders and it's fine. But if you find the hair looks oddly thin, it might need some tweaking.
I use tons of non iray products in IRAY and most work fine even without the iray shaders. If I feel it doesn't look as good as i would like then I use the DAZ uber IRAY shader and then adjust it from there.
If you are going to buy something buy this UHT2 Ultimate Color its fantastic. It helps fill out some of the stringier early hair as well.
I guess it's a matter of trial and error but you'll probably develop a feel for when and how to use it over time. Here's an example from the commercial UHT2 thread:

UHT1 and UHT2 are really good for older hairs that predate Iray. There is also - http://www.daz3d.com/idg-iray-hair-essentials-shaders - for the same thing
I personally like OOTs hairs that are iray ready.

Another vote for UHT and UHT2. Great for giving new life to many (most) of the older hair products (or just adding color options to just about any hair product), expecially if they have burned in highlights, which usually doesn't look very good with Iray. Quite a few non Iray products will look good with a bit of tweaking, but with UHT2 I can make just about any hair look good. If UHT2 (or UHT) is on sale right now, IMHO you should definitely grab it.
