Paypal Credit

Has anyone used paypal credit recently?  I've used it many times in the past, but this option showed as "unavailable" the last couple of orders I tried it on.  Thanks.

    Me too

  • Well, ALLIEKATBLUE, and anyone else who wants to use paypal credit here at DAZ, they no longer accept this form of payment.  I contacted them through their online system and received a reply today which said, in part, "...unfortunately our system does not have the resources to support the requirements from paypal for this process to be available anymore. That is a restriction from PayPal."  I'm very disapponted because this means I will be unable to purchase much here, at all, anymore.  I've been a customer here since 2005 and have used paypal credit for many of those years.  sad

You just used it?  I haven't been able to use it for several days.  I hope I wasn't told wrong and it's just me.  lol  Maybe there aren't very many of us that use paypal credit?

Hello, I've had a very long problem using Paypal here at Daz last year (it did last 3-4 months, more or less), actually there was no issues on daz end, and none of the Paypal techs I've had on phone during that time were able to help... Until one finally suggested converting the money on my Paypal account (which was in Euros) to Dollar. It worked again right after making this simple change. I don't know if your issue is similar, but in case your Paypal has a different default currency, try changing it to Dollar, it did work for me.

I have no idea why the default currency needs to be dollar in order to work nowadays, as I've used Euros during years on Daz with no problem, but it seems it can cause problems sometimes.

ps : Just checked 2 minutes ago, I still have Paypal available for oder. Hopefully Oo .

  • Navi, thank you for your reply.  I'm in the US so I don't have the conversion problem, but maybe your post will help someone else who is having similar trouble.  I'm just out of luck with my issue, I'm afraid.

    Hello Greg Brown,

You sent a payment of $xxx.90 USD to DAZ Productions Inc
    ([email protected])

You've sent a payment of $xxx.90 USD to DAZ Productions Inc, and you'll be billed with PayPal Credit through your PayPal account.

We'll send you an email when your statement is ready. For more information, or to schedule a payment to PayPal Credit, just visit PayPal.

It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

The above was from the 22nd of this month. The 6 months Same as Cash option requires a minimum $99USD purchase and comes up automatically for me in PayPal.

FWIW it worked with a test just now (didn't buy) of $102 total in the cart and then when I went to Paypal one of the options was PayPal Credit. I DO have PP Credit balance but AM (always) Current with PP Credit. Hope this helps.

  • Okay, what the heck?  Is it because of the amount?  Well, next time I want to make a purchase around $100 I guess I'll have to try it.  Thank you, JazzyBear/Greg Brown.  smiley  I'm current with my credit account, also.  Of course, now I'm worried that I told others the wrong thing.  The DAZ employee told me exactly what I posted above so now I'm very confused.  frown  I don't want to steer other customers wrong.  You said you had the option for paypal credit, but was it actually grayed out?  That was how it was when I tried over the last few days.  There was a question mark with it and when I clicked on it it said to pick another option because credit was not available for that purchase.

Is "PayPal Credit" something different than "PayPal"?  I've been using PayPal for months without problem, and even bought something for under $10 last night.  For me PayPal charges get deducted immediately from my bank's credit card.

I haven't been able to use it for about a year so I started shopping at a different site more and draining my savings account for stuff here

Yeah, it's a credit account through paypal and the lender is actually Comenity Capital Bank.  You don't get an actual card so you can only use it for online purchases.  I loved being able to use it here.

You weren't given the option at check out to use paypal credit going back that long ago?  The person from DAZ Sales that replied to me didn't mention how long ago they stopped taking it.  Weird.  I'll just be using it elsewhere, too.

Okay so a couple of things I just found out... the $99USD is for the 6 months no interest option. I tried a lesser amount and PP Credit came up as an optional radio button and I was able to select it for $38.40 charge on Daz. The terms look like that will add to my balance and if I don't pay that off it would start to accumulate interest on the next statement.

As far as I know PP Credit really has nothing to do with the Seller as long as they take PP. Now sometimes a seller like HP.com will have 18months no interest or 12 months no interst for NEW or Existing PP customers.

I think a call to PP (more than once maybe) until you get a real answer as to why it may be "unavailable" is in order. Honestly I have found PP "mostly" very help and easy to get ahold of for questions like this. Trust me, they want using PP Credit and PP in general!

Most anyone can apply for PP credit.

One thing very interesting it does NOT report to ANY credit agency! That can be good or bad depending on your situation.

  • Well, thanks for helping to try and figure this out.  Sellers who accept paypal in general actually don't have to accept paypal credit.  I've just used pp credit at another store and didn't have a problem.  I guess I won't worry about it for now.  I'll just have to adjust in whatever ways I can.  I'm glad that it seems to be working ok for you, though.  smiley
