There is a big difference in render times using a hdd in comparison with a ssd?

    Not at all as render time depends on your graphics card. You only notice that computer starts the render quickly if your assets are located on the SSD.

    It has a noticable difference if you load items into your scene (and the dreadful "my content seems to have vanished" issue you sometimes get when you change between categories).
