Thanks, Kendall. I've tried it both ways- loading everything but the fur cloak and saving, then adding fur cloak and texturing (which sometimes crashes, sometimes doesn't). I've also tried saving after adding fur cloak and texturing it, which often crashes. This morning I pulled up a file that had already been textured and tried to change the preset, which immediately caused it to crash. I'm messaging you the log file.

Make sure that you are not parenting the cloak to anything otherwise the LAMH preset will lose the item.  Use Fit-To to make the cloak attach and follow a figure.

I was trying to use this yesterday. I added the fur around the neck. It loads all green. I tried applying some of the textures for it, but it remained green. Am I doing something wrong? Or do I have to render it to see the color that I applied. I did try the N-vidia preview, but the fur was absent in that view.

Also, when I posed the figure, the coat "cuts" through the legs, but there don't appear to be any morphs for adjusting the coat,...or am I missing something?

Lastly...when I load the fur, two items load to the "browser" window. I figured out one is the base. But neither of them is fitted or parented to the figure. I tried both and neither one kept it on the figure when I posed him. But when I deleted and tried parenting to M4 after he was posed, it did snap into place. For The LAMH part, there was a twistee. I opened it and clicked on that part...while I was fittling with it...thinking maybe I needed have it selected when I applied the texture, but as soon as I clicked on that item, DS seemed to close (or minimize) and there was a little dialogbox in the middle of my screen. It said "Please wait" and after a little bit, it closed and DS was gone too.

    I do own LAMH.

Yes, that's all right. The green hairs are the LaMH guide hairs, they show you where the rendered hair will grow. And yes, you don't see the colour of the hair until you render.

As for the Iray preview, that won't work because LaMH uses the 3Delight renderer — they don't exist in Iray. It is possible to convert the LaMH settings into something that works in Iray, but it's a bit fiddly.

OK. Thanks, SpottedKitty. Then I guess I'll have to render this one in 3Delight.

If you have the full LAMH (not the free player) you can export LAMH FiberHair for Iray. You would want to do this just before rendering. Kendall

Thanks, Kendall Sears. I bought Wolf AM the other day and I saw there was a video on how to do it. And I tried it successfully. When I said to create the obj, it said there already was an obj by that name and did I want to overwright. I cancelled and went back and checked the video, and that's what appeared was happening there to. The message showed the path where it was going to save it, but no name. After it created the obj, I saw that it had named the new listings after Michael 4 and not the wolf.

I see what you mean about doing this just before render. First time I forgot to set up my camera. I ended up dumped the scene without saving and reopening and creating the obj again; this time setting up my camera first.

This is the first time I have used LAMH.
