Question about DIM

Hi,

Getting my new computer set up and have downloaded DIM to throw into Dropbox to load up onto the new computer in the new room.  So I need to know one thing, do I NEED to keep all those downloaded zips that are downloaded?  I know that DIM needs some files to uninstall but I really don't relish keeping all those zips once I have the products insalled.

Is there a setting that I can tell DIM to NOT keep the zips

Thanks

Richard

To get rid of those zips automatically, You just go to the Ready To Install tab in Dim & tick off  'Delete Package Once Installed"

I believe the only use for these after install is for back up purposes.  I delete zips after install as if I need them I can just download them again & its never caused a problem for me

As long as your internet connection is reliable AND Daz3d is "up", everything's fine. As least for me, one of these things happens with annoying frequency. HD space is cheap. I thought I had a lot of capacity w/ 20TB of a total capacity,  then I read the "NAS" thread. I'm pretty middle ground based on that.

same here, I backup all my zips on an external just in case. Then again, I don't use DIM and I also back up my runtimes once a month. When I got my new PC a few months back, I just dropped the runtimes into the new rig and set the paths, easy peazy

OK.  thanks so much.  I took the plunge and got the new machine on it's way to being the main machine (where I'm typing from).  I hope I can find my Color This Site scripts I made... this default theme here is killing my eyes..
