I use genesis 3, and I have been trying for hours to blend the outlines of toonycam with the Visual Novel textures when rendering avoiding any need to photoshop but failed

I only obtained the two separated things. What I am doing wrong? How can I improve?

Thanks!

  • You can't really combine two shaders on the same surface - it might be possible if theya re both Shader Mixer shaders, multiplying them together before sending the output. Simply layering the outline on the colour render should be batchable in Photoshop if you are wanting to automate the process across a lot of renders.

  • What presets or settings are you using on ToonyCam?

I was trying many things at the same time, the hair at first was colored with Ultimate Hair 2.0 but the eyelashes not.

The character is Stormy for Genesis 3 with a 100% custom head made with headshop one click plugin (my first try with this too, and had some battles to make it look good), I dont know whats wrong on hair or eyelashes, tried individually selecting hair or eyelashes and resetting full color toonycam on it, but renders the same.

  • Hang on while I test something out.  I haven't used ToonyCam on a model with the hair color applied from that package.  It shouldn't make a difference to ToonyCam how the hair is colored so I doubt that is the reason.  But, I'll check it out.  Did you try saving your character as a Scene Subset and then shutting down DS and loading your scene back up to reset ToonyCam?  Sometimes it gets a little weird and the only thing to do is reset everything.  Part of it stays in memory even if you change settings on it.  I've found that sometimes you just have to shut it down and start with a new ToonyCam.

Found my error, eyelashes was for using this option of toonycam, and hair just worked by reloading the genesis prop. Thanks you! :)

  • Ah, so, glad.  I was just getting on to say I hadn't seen any kind of problem with the hair shader.  I'm glad you got it working.
