The Kids 4

I bought "The Kids 4 Complete", but it doesn't appear in the left pane box under "Smart Content" and "Products". I can find it only in the right pane box under "Content Library" and "Products". There is in alphabetic order "The Kids 4 Base" and "The Kids 4 Morphs++" But if I try to use it from that site it doesn't work very well and some functions are not responding.

If I make a right mouse click on the right pane to "The Kids 4 Base" and chose "show in Smart Content - Products" then in appears in the left pane, but with a orange warning sign, not image and no function.

What I did wrong? I have Mac OS 10.8.2 and DAZ 4.6.0.18 Pro Edition. How I can bring "The Kids 4" to work?

That is because 'Smart Content' isn't smart, it only knows what it is told through metadata files. A lot of older content like the Kids may not have metadata so will only be visible in the 'Content Library'. I personally hate 'Smart Content' because it relies on metadata and therefore someone else's idea of how the content should be arranged and associated with other content.

K4 will show up in the Poser formats library, under DAZ people.

It is possible to personalize Smart Content to your liking, and it's fairly simple once you understand the basics. I currently find it easier to work with Smart Content than the Content Library for the same reasons. Before now I've had three different folders each from the same Vendor, albeit one was clearly a spelling mistake.

OP: You can see the link in my signature for a rundown of how to get items like the Kids 4 to show up in your Smart Content window, and how to make items such as clothing and hair compatible with them. Or, like Choloe said, simply use the Content Library to find your K4 figure.

The problem is when I work with the Content library on the right pane then nothing fits. If I want to give a character in "The Kids 4 "clothes, shoes (I bought Skateboarder and I have Toddler and Base) nothing happen in the scene. I click and click and click... even with the right mouse click nothing happen. The kid cannot get clothes. With Genesis on the left pane and Smart Content this is much easier. Juste choose and then it works.

That is because your trying to apply the TEXTURE to the scene and have not loaded the ITEM. In the Poser side you have folders for the items and one for textures, you need to load the item before you use the texture.

    Hello,
I link myself to this 3d because I also have a problem with The Kids 4 Complete. I just downloaded and installed via the Install Manager but when I load them from "Poser Format -> My Daz 3D Library -> Figures -> Daz People -> The Kids 4" on DS4.6 I have the following message: "The "The Kids 4" support folder could not be found.", and once I click ok a Powerloader empty window opens.
    Any idea? Thanks!

What OS are you running? Do you have, looking in a file browser and not DS, a My Daz 3D Library\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\The Kids 4 folder?

Sorry, by reading the forum on other similar queries (not related to The Kids), I found it is a compatibility problem with the Powerloaders.
I simply uninstalled it and now it works fine. I only have to inject the morphs manually but it is not a big deal.
Sorry I do not have cancelled the message, or posted the solution before.

btw, I run MacOS latest version.

    Thanks!

I have the same problem.  Can you describe please what you uninstalled to solve this problem?

I guess the probloem is the DzCreateExPFiles-xx.command that doesn't have privilegies.

Navigate with Finder to <your content folder>/Runtime/libraries/!DAZ

There you have the files. try to run then, depending on order of installation and from which installer the DzCreateExPFiles.app came from, it might or might not have the correct privilegies to run.

Doubleclick the DzCreateExPFiles-K4.command and see what happens.
