Dynamic Nightwear for V4 autofit

I need a night robe for Genesis 3 female, and this looks perfect: https://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-nightwear-for-v4, has anyone autofitted it to genesis 3 female? I have  "Wear Them All autofitting clones for genesis 3 female"  and "SY Ultra Templates for Genesis 3 Female(s)", how does the robe autofit to Genesis 3 female?

I have another question also: I have a request to send one of my shaping preset to someone, He will need all morphs packs and character I used when I made the character right? where does he unzip the shaping preset?

In what format can he export the character? He is a beginner like me at Daz 3d, so he would need instructions on how to export it.

It's dynamic, you can't autofit it. Good thing is, as dynamic, it doesn't matter what figure it's for since you can get it to work on most any figure.

Shaping preset, yes, he would need to own (purchase) all the morph addons you have for that preset. The shaping preset can go anywhere you can access it thru the content library. I keep mine in presets

Not sure on the exporting question as that is not the purpose of DS. If he is a beginner, would be best to start learning DS since the DAZ figures are designed to work in DS..

  • Thanks for the reply! :) It would be helpfull if someone who has it can confirm that it works on Genesis 3 female.

If he puts it in his My library/presests/shaping would that work? He needs to export it to import it into a gamengine (to make a gameplay demo to take to publishers) He needs it to be in either Maya Ascii or Maya Binary, obj or fbx, is that possible?

If he is using any DAZ assets for game design he also needs a game developer license

My library/presests/shaping is where I keep mine, so yes.

As for testing on GF3, I have it, but not installed. let me install it and see, but shouldn't be a problem. Do you know how to work with dynamic clothing in DS?

Would he need a game developer license if he only uses it to show some publishers a gameplay-demo? He only wants to show a gameplay demo, to get some publisher interested in a possible game. If they come to an aggreament he will then hire a professional  3d modeller to make the character.

I have never used a dynamic clothing in daz, is it difficult?

If it is just a prerecorded video of gameplay, then no. BUT if he shows publishers DAZ models and that is what they like, it will cost him quite a bit to hire a modeler to produce models of the same quality as DAZ models. Tell him to check out Morph3D, it's the game design option for DAZ unlike here which is for rendering and animation purposes.

As for dynamic, it's not hard, but not a one click option like conforming clothing .

  • I'll tell him about Morph 3D. Did you have a chance to test the night robe on Genesis 3 female?

It works fine on GF3, but it supposedly comes with closed and open versions and I am unable to find the open version, just the closed version. It's an old V4 product, so it might have something to do with the current DS version and CS can sort it out, but as for working, it does, you just need to know about dynamic clothing.

The basics, load figure in default pose, then load the robe. move any parts of GF3 that are not inside the robe to inside the robe area. Then open the animation timeline. move it forward to near the end and then select your pose for GF3 and any morphs such as larger breasts, etc. Then move the animation timeline back to beginning. Select the robe, then open the dynamic properties window under Windows Panes (tabs) and choose animated, then hit drape and GF3 will go to her pose and pose the dynamic robe along with it

Here you go — not rendered, since I haven't had a chance to convert the textures from 3Delight to Iray yet, but it is possible (although the robe over the neck/shoulder area looks a bit iffy). A few gotchas, though:

    • Be aware you're layering dynamic cloth over dynamic cloth; first I added the skirt, set to collide with G3F, then added the top, set to collide with G3F and the skirt, then finally added the robe, set to collide with all of them.
    • D|S dynamics tend to fall over if you give it too much to collide with; I removed as many G3F parts as I could from the collide list each time (e.g. you won't need to collide with the fingers, toes, or head).
    • The default T-pose for G3F isn't exactly the same as for V4; I had to manually pose the robe sleeves to keep the figure's arms inside the sleeves.
    • Posing with the robe will be... tricky, to say the least. After you have the robe properly draped, you will need to do an animated drape of all dynamic cloth to get the figure into the right pose.

There's a pretty good chance this will work with any G3F character, except small, young, or massively muscled body shapes. Since you can't fit-to dynamic cloth, it won't resize to match a heavily morphed G3F.

SpottedKitty, where did you find the open robe option? I see the one rode to load and no way to open it.

In the Dynamic Clothing pane, open the Garment tab with the robe selected. Right at the bottom you'll see a Styles section; here's where you'll find any variations built in to the cloth, such as open or closed robes, short or long sleeves shirts, etc. Note that not all cloth has styles built in; sometimes there are separate clothes items, sometimes there are just none at all.

Thanks for that! Never knew that area existed in the dynamic tab

Thanks for the replys, FSMCDesign and SpottedKitty! :) It sounds complicated with dynamic clothes, I wish that there were a model like that for genesis 3 female without the dynamics, I don't know if  I will be able to get it right.

The great thing about dynamics is that it is more realistic in most cases unlike conforming clothing especially with folds, wrinkles and how the fabric lays on the skin. Once you figure out the basics it's just a matter of tweaking to getting great results. Until DAZ gets a new dynamic option, they are stuck with OptiTex which is limited in what you can use and do. Here are some freebies to learn with
