I'm not seeing the new Iray info from the link...just the previous.

Is the link incorrect...Or, am I just missing what's new?

Sometimes logging out and back in helps...it can take time for store cache to clear as well.

was wondering the same thing. I can't work out if anything is actually "new" in the features there.

  • there's new downloads in dim

  • I see the new download...working on it now.  I just wasn't sure what is actually different about Iray.  I'd give a big thumbs up for faster rendering! ;)

  • I did see the thing about the blended interactive or photoreal mode.  That just sounds like an added feature, rather than an engine update.  I do like the looks of the additional added layer to the diffuse texture.  That sounds like it could replace LIE.

  • Checked my exe after installing the update from DIM and sure enough, daz is at 4.9.3.166 now.  Still nothing as far as documentation on what's new yet.  Not even in the official General Release forum thread.  Slackin' lol

  • had to do the install twice first time after finished my previous full version completely disappeared so had no studio at all (didn't have beta on this computer didn't have the option to have it got it on my new computer waiting on it being repaired) restarted my computer and started dim again and second attempt installed it other good news though it looks like my version of headshop 9, garibaldi hair, and look at my hair is in my menus just checked they load too anyway these weren't showing up/working in the beta same with the one click headshop product apperently so that may now work in this newer full version

Just type daz studio 4.9 in your purchase history and you should get the page with the new files.

You can also type the same in the DIM search field:

I'm more interested in why I'm supposed to want it than where to find it too. More coffee is required, but as far as I can tell, all is revealed here...

Support for Pascal cards (10xx series cards), new Iray with speed improvements and bug fixes, several new features...especially camera related (bokeh and DoF type improvements), spectral rendering (not necessarily and 'everyday' thing),  a long list of Studio centric bug fixes...

The beta is not far behind the new release version (if it's behind at all) - installing the release version won't affect the beta.

Thanks Richard, but what I mean is is there an update to 4.9 Beta? Because I haven't yet updated to the 4.9 general release yet but I would like to try the new features if they are available in the Beta version since I have that installed as well.

No, the release is the same as the last beta. In the past Daz has updated the betas when the release is a build or so newer, presumably for people in your position, but in this case it doesn't arise.

Yes, it will silently uninstall and then reinstall - DS doesn't get patch installers, they are always the full version.

yes at least it did for me and Rupfuss took a couple of goes first time I/we installed it removed the previous 4.9 full build or made it disappear but the newer version doesn't install then, but starting up dim the second time the new full daz build + bridge and something else appears in dim again ready to download and does fully install on the second attempt and all plugins like headshop, garibaidi hair, look at my hair extra will appear in your menus and work if you have them unlike in the beta where they wouldn't but you will have to input their rego again

The new version didn't change my custom layout or tab arrangement etc. It was seamless
