Is there a way to shut off updates??

Hi there.  Recently, due to a DAZ studio update, it has basically caused some of hair that I've recently bought to not work correctly, even though I've uninstalled and reinstalled this hair.  I know it was after an update, becase I received a message that I had to re-activate properties again, somethign that effect.  Then I logged in as work online, and then the message went away.  But now I have this problem where these hair add ons don't work.  So, in the event that I have to re-install everything from scratch, is there a way to shut off updates so I don't have this situation again?   Or does it mean that if I don't want updates, just work offline for ever.

The program developers might think updates are great, but if it's going to screw up your setup, the updates are worthless, particularly if that feature that has been perfected in the update is not somehting you use.

I may be new to DAZ studio, but I'm not new to 3D programs, but these forced updates, just because you worked online, is not somehting that happens with other programs.  In any event, any info appreciated, thanks.

  • Don't check for updates, or don't install them. However your issue is explained here http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/138711/leyton-hair-and-sapphire-hair-not-selectable#latest so there's nothing broken.

Thanks Richard.  It's just that when things are working and then they stop working, or are working differently, I"m like saying, wait a second a, I just spent $25 bucks on hair and it's not working?? :)  I"m glad there's a reasonable explanation.  Just wondering why it was showing up before as a separate object.  Thanks again and sorry if I sounded a little testy, but I thought I was going to have to re-install a lot of stuff..

  • Automatically parenting fitted items is a relatively new feature, if your previous version was much older it may not have had that.

  • No, it's about 3 weeks old.  I guess I just never experienced it before.  But thanks for the info.
