What's going on with that sword?

So, I'm new to rendering and DAZ. I've been working on improving my skills over the last month...  but I can't figure out what's going on here. I imported the sword and the pommel keeps bending. If I improt it with the figure selected, it imports normally.

Any idea how it can be fixed? Thanks!

If the sword is a conformer it shouldn't be.  Load it with nothing else selected in scene, if it has bones expand and select all then lock all bend, twist or rotate dials.  Finally parent it in place to the figures hand.

Hm, thanks for the suggestion. I tried it, but it doesn't seem to be working. In fact, it's also happening to the shield. It become all twisted when applied to the figure. This is from the Knight Eisenfaust set.

I can load and lock the prop in place, but then as soon as I use the "fit to" so that it will get placed in the hand, everything goes crazy.

Does it load parented and in the hand if you have the figure selected?

  • Is the sword made for the figure you are using it with?

DO NOT Fit-To, they are simple props and should not have been made as conformers.

    Yep, it does.

No, but it convert automatically when loaded.

Right, but they should pose in the correct place, right? Is there a way to make them non-conforming?

When you say 'convert automatically' do you mean the autofit box pops up if so cancel it, this may mean that you have to place the sword in the hand manually but its breaking because of autofit, things like swords etc don't autofit well to other figures.

If a prop loads in parented to a hand or head for example its a smart prop and will to a degree work with most figures, a conforming figure will fit to a particular figure, personally I hate seeing weapons etc made into conforming figures makes, them a pain to work with smart props are a lot easier.
