So, i had my hard drive on PC 1 and and install on it from DIM. i plug it into PC 2 and DIM doesn't show i need to update anything. i know stu needs updated on PC 2, but can't remember which.
And how do iu get iit tuo show what i already instahlled via PC 1?

DIm doesn't monitor the content itself, which would take ages. Instead it looks at the manifests it saved when installing - those are in the Manifests folder in the Install Manager folder in Public Documents unless you hacked the .ini file and presumably are not on PC2, so DIM doesn't know anything about the installations.
It would at least know DS and DIM should be updated on PC2, yes? I haven't been on PC2 in months, so I know DS, DIM, and a lot needs updated on PC 2 but DIM doesn't sense it.
DIM compares the download folder content to your product library at DAZ to determine if anything not yet installed needs to be updated - which, in this case, means it needs to be downloaded again. It compares the manifest files Richard mentioned against both the download folder (to see if a recent download is an update) and to your product library (to see if an update exists for an installed item and you need to download it again).
So if PC2 doesn't connect to the internet and you're physically moving the drive AND you don't have the manifest files on PC2 then DIM won't see anything as needing updates.
