URGENT - RDNA SHUT DOWN WARNING!!!

A couple days ago, a friend (in the real world) asked me had I heard when RuntimeDNA was closing. I hadn't.

So I checked and found it was closing on Dec 31st!

I searched RDNA forums and DAZ forums to make sure that Downloads were all transfered to DAZ site.

I mean, if I bought another site I would transfer ALL the items OR leave at least the download page of the old site open.

I wouldn't transfer half the stuff, but leave the rest.

IF I did, then I would post this information on the front page of the DAZ site for at LEAST TWO months!

I would send out emails every DAY, saying it was closing completely!

I would have a BIG sticky right in the commons.

WRONG, WRONG WRONG!!!!

Let me tell you what I have learned...

Not all items were transfered to the DAZ store and only those items that were transfered to the DAZ store will appear in your DAZ accounts product library ("Download page"). If you don't download (from RDNA) the items that were not transferred to the DAZ store you will lose them.

I asked a few other people (in the real world) and NO ONE else new this either, so please save all the "didn't you read it on the super secret page" or didn't you search for it" comments!

If you haven't downloaded everything, do it NOW!!

This software helped me download my stuff (over 500 items!!!)

    Actually, I read it in the email that RDNA sent out a few weeks back. But I've already got all my product zips downloaded and saved from my initial purchasing of the items. I do that with all other sites so that I don't have to try and remember where I got something and hope to be able to find it if I ever need to re-install a product. All neatly tucked away on my google drive.

    Daz/RDNA sent a reminder email two weeks ago. I think there had been another fairly recent email, it was certainly mentioned in one of the emails for the final sale.

    This has been well known for a long time. There are threads going back many months about them merging over and closing their doors at the end of the year. Not a surprise to most of us.

    One flaw in your post that I really need to address; while DAZ did buy RDNA, the only content they can legally transfer here is the content from vendors that were there that decide to sell here. They do not have the right to simply move everything fro RDNA to DAZ without consulting the vendors.

    One other small point. - RDNA was headqurtered on the East Coast of the US. So, shutdown could be midnight EST (2 hours earlier than DAZ midnight)

    I recall reading somewhere that the forums would be continue to be active.

    Does anyone else remember that?

    I also received an email from RDNA about their closing and have downloaded all my goodies.

    Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Apparently none of my RDNA purchases had transferred over to DAZ, so I just finished downloading them. I know I have them installed on my machine, but a backup, especially in a safe place, is probably a good idea.

    Open a Sales Support ticket, giving your account details (email at least) for RDNA. With luck they will be able to add the items that transferred to the Daz store to your account.

    I'm not sure how long it will last; but as of 11am Eastern Standard Time today (1 Jan) the RDNA site was still operating.

    I barely come to the forums anymore, unless I need something. I don't think I have been to the RDNA forums more than once a year since I joined.

    All of us knew they were closing and merging. THAT wasn't the surprise. 

    What was a surprise was the fact that all the downloads hadn't been transfered to the DAZ site!

    I knew I started seeing my RDNA purchases show up here at DAZ, so I just relaxed and assumed it was all taken care of.

    My friends were all under the same confused assumption.

    Daz, Rendo, Content Paradise, and a few others, fill up my email with sales offers and I probably don't open half of them.

    If I did, I would spend more time reading email, than doing other things.

    ...sounds like what I deal with, though mine is more due to being a "concerned citizen" than from 3D stores (most unwanted advert emails automatically route to the spam folder). 

    It is especially bad just before the end of the month, year, and varuous fiscal budget deadlines when everyone and their pet iquana seem to solicit contributions.

    There's no telling how long it will last but as of 7:50am EST this morning (3 Jan) the site including forums are still up and running. Besides your 'purchased' store freebies, don't forget there are also other community freebies available.

    I used that awesome script and downloaded my many purchases at RDNA for local back up over a month ago. As dear old Dad used to say, God rest him, "Never assume anything."

    New message on the RDNA site indicatesd this will be the end of January.

    I think it is the store closed on December 31st but downloads will be available until January 31st.

    The store closed on 15 Dec and originally downloads were to be available until 31 Dec; but now the downloads will be available until 31 January

    If it were me I would use both the email contact on the RDNA site and submit a ticket on the DAZ site chosing RDNA support (instead of sales support)

    Sorry, I dont recall my login for runtimedna.  When I try to re-register I am forwarded to Daz3d registration.

    So... any suggestions.  There are a few things I am interested to DL.

    Maybe, there is a procedure to follow I am not aware.
