$6 coupon only gives $1 off?

I have a couple Daz Original items in my cart. Before applying the Plat coupon, these two DO items are $3.67 and $4.40. They are not new, and not PC+. After applying the coupon, they drop to $3.13 and $3.76, and my total goes from $25.61 to $24.41.Huh? Why does the full coupon not work? I have 7 items in my cart, including a starter bundle for free deal.

Remove any and all free items. The value of the coupon ends up distributed among all the items, which includes freebies, so less than the full amount ends up applying to the total.
We shouldn't have to lose out on the freebie bundle to use the coupon. I have the same problem.
Yeah, I'm not sure why they can't fix the algorythm, but at the moment the only way to use a coupon to it's full extent is to split the purchase into one with coupon and one without, which can create problems if the things you want to use the coupons on are the things that get the item for free.
It used to be that PC members got $6 of store credit each month (rather than two $6 coupons) but when they updated the website, they had to code things differently.
I think I lose a discount if I drop them out though. Buy X and get an extra 10% off, because they are 2015 and 2016 best sellers.
Hmm. I thought that Free items didn't count for "Buy X and get an extra 10% off" That's supposed to be items that are still marked new that are not free (at least according to the fine print on just about every page)
Now it may be that if you don't get the free stuff at the same time as the Daz Originals, you won't get the free bundle for free, but I'd still reccomend moving things in and out of your cart to see if you can find a way to split the order to get both the free bundle and the daz originals.
I'm not using the free item for that. I have a new release, which is what is required. There are 7 items in my cart.
If you go ahead with the purchase, CS will normally refund the part of the coupon you lost out on.
If that's not an option, take a screenshot and file a ticket with CS to explain - they'll sort it out somehow.
If I don't or can't use it tomorrow, I'll askfor store credit. We shouldn't lose out on a freebie or other discount to use the coupon...
Be sure and take screen shots of it not working properly. It will probably increase your chances of getting the amount credited to your account. :)
I already checked out but if there's a problem I'll link to this page to show I tried to use it and others had the same problem.I did that once before with the Darius price problem. I keep throwing them all the glitches, I think they're used to me finding them by now LOL.
Or better yet, I just wont buy those items at all. Daz needs to fix this if they are going to run all these wacky sales at the same time. Its great that they are doing such nice sales nowadays, but they need to make sure this stuff works properly. The coupon should be able to detect zero dollar amounts on free items, it shouldn't be a hard thing to fix. Steam wised up and stopped doing a bunch of ridiculous stuff on their sales. There is a reason for that. They confuse too many customers, and super short flash sales frustrated customers who missed them because of work or other life reasons.
Maybe a little late since this is about yesterday's sale, but I think it has another reason. I believe the holiday loyalty discount is applied after the coupon (sadly). try to calculate it again manually. The result of that should match quite reasonably well. Because of that, yesterday my coupon 'seemed' to only have an effect of about $4. The only thing I am actualy truly sad about is that only for the Michael 7 figure I couldn't get the starter bundle for free.
The final result of this is that your coupon works better on small orders.
The problem seems to be the order things are done in during checkout — it looks like the detection of free items (and zeroing the price) is done after the coupon value is doled out between qualifying items. This means the coupon share going to free items is lost. We've been complaining about it since the disastrous changeover to the current store software a few years ago, but nothing's ever been done about it. I can't help wondering what sort of problems other online stores using the same software have been tripping over. It's supposed to be a popular choice: you couldn't guess that from our experience here.
