Genesis 2 Male conforming figure

I have a conforming figure that I've created to fit Genesis 2 Male. I used the figure setup tool in DS to get everything working. I got the joint parameters set and even remembered to memorize the figure rigging before I saved it as Support Asset/Figure/Prop. Everything seems to work fine. The figure is a set of Antennae that has Genesis 2 Male's head as a base. The antennae move and can be posed and etc fine when the figure is by itself. The second that I conform it to Genesis 2 Male, the rigging is tossed aside and his rigging is put in it's place, which makes the antennae cease to work. What I'm not completely understanding is that why when I save the figure and check the box for compatible figures and select Genesis 2 Male that when I conform it I get told my figure is an unsupported figure? And when I go to select the from the supported figures list, Genesis 2 Male does not appear. What can I do to keep the rigging and still have the head part of the figure auto-fit to whatever morph is dialed?

Have you tried just parenting it rather then conforming??
I've tried that and the rigging stays but when I use a morph on Genesis 2 Male, my base mesh doesn't auto-fit to the morph. I kind of need it to do that. Otherwise I may have to rethink some things.
Did you make sure that the matched bones of the antennae were exactly the same as the bones in Genesis 2 Male? Usually the best way to do that would be to use the Transfer utility and then add extra bones with the Joint Editor, going through Figure Setup introduces extra margin for error. If it's not a GeoGraft then parenting may be the best choice, and will preserve your existing work.
My base mesh is named "head" to match the bone in Genesis 2 male. All the bones of the antennae are child/parenting to attach to the head. I've got one more option to try and then I may go the geograft route. I've never done a geograft before. Hopefully I wont lose any more hair if I have to resort to that.
These are the settings I'm using when I finally get to the Save As Support Asset/Figure-Prop. Do I need to change any of these settings?
And here is what my figure looks like posed...
I tried the geo-grafting and ran into the same issue when I got to the "FIt to" part of the geo-graft tutorial. If I do the geo-graft thing, can I parent it to the figure instead of "Fit to"? Or will that not work? I'm beginning to wonder if my version of Studio is the issue. I have a copy that I use on my work Mac and a version that I use on my home PC. I'm running into the "Fit to" issue on the Mac version. For some reason on the PC version I can't seem to do the Save as support asset/Figure-Prop. I always get the "check the log file" dialog box on the PC.
Do the start and end points for the head bone exactly match those of the Geensis 2 Male head? Does the name match (not the label that shows in the Scene pane)? Usually a conformer will have more than just the one bone to match the wearer.
1) No, the head bone does not line up exactly with the head bone in Genesis 2 Male. 2) In the Joint Editor, the selection group for both G2M and my figure for the head bone is called "head". For the node, in my figure the head bone is listed as "Antennae:head". For G2M, it's listed as "Genesis 2 Male:Head". Do I need to line up the head bone so that it exactly matches the head bone in Genesis 2 Male?
Am I going to have to create Bones for the hip all the way to the head in order for this to work correctly? I adjusted the bone in the figure and tried re-saving it and still have the issue where it resets the figure rigging and ignores my added bones. Even after telling it to "memorize the figure rigging" before saving.
I'm not sure what you mean by resetting the rigging - are you getting the AutoFit dialogue? If not then it won't change the rigging.
The rigging that I set up for my figure starts off with "head". Each antennae has a base joint that the bone is attached to "head". There are 7 joints/bones for each antennae and end with a tip joint/bone for each antennae. When I do the "fit to" for the Genesis 2 male, since it doesn't want to recognize that it's for Genesis 2 Male, I leave the figure as "unsupported". I then select the clothing type as headgear. After it does all of it's calculations and fits the antennae to the figure, the bones are changed to match Genesis 2 Male. The bones for the antennae that I created in the Figure Setup dialog somehow get deleted and so the whole figure/mesh is treated like it's just the head. I am at a loss as to why the bones are getting deleted. It doesnt do this for other figures.
The auto-fit dialog
Yes, AutoFit will remove custom bones. Does it fit correctly before you save it?
For the most part yes. There's a few places I need to go back and fix because I see edges/shadows when I render. How do I keep auto-fit from removing the custom bones?
The issue is that it isn't being correctly marked as a Genesis 2 Male item - if it wasn't AutoFit wouldn't run. I'm not sure why that isn't working.
Ok, so how do I correctly mark it as a Genesis 2 Male item? What settings in "Save As Support Asset/Figure-Prop" should I be using?
It's fitted when you save it? And you are not changing the defaults in the dialogue (other than the naming fields)?
Is the dialogue of which you speak?
I notice Category is greyed out - is Smart Content working on your system? I think it must be, but it's one way things could go wrong and I'm not seeing any other immediate issues.
As far as I know Smart Content is working. Smart parenting is greyed out. Do I need it and how do I make it so it's not greyed out?
Parenting isn't smart in the same way - if you had aprented the figure to Genesis 2 Male then that would be available, to make sure it parented when loaded (as long as it had a target to parent to)
I still haven't gotten anywhere with this figure. These are the bones that I'm setting up using the Figure Setup Tab:
>head
>BaseR
>01R
>02R
>03R
>04R
>05R
>06R
>07R
>TipR

I can parent the figure to the head and all works fine. I can pose the individual bones and etc. If I try and "fit to" my figure to Genesis 2 Male. All the new bones get removed and the only bones remaining are the ones that match Genesis 2 Male.
After reading a post about clothing items in another thread, I thought I'd try fitting the figure to Genesis and just work my way up to Genesis 2 Male. When I "fitted to" my figure to Genesis, the new bones stayed in the figure. I then saved the figure as a support asset/Figure/Prop and tried "fitting to" Genesis 2 Male. The new bones got removed again. Am I going to have to set these bones up in the "Joint Editor" in order for them that they dont get removed?
Using the Transfer Utility should ensure that everything is set up correctly - then, yes, you will need to add the custom bones. Any projection tool - Transfer Utility or AutoFit - will replace the skeleton with that of the source figure.
So if I use AutoFit, add the custom bones back in, memorize the rigging, re-save the figure. When I use the new figure in the future and use AutoFit, will the custom bones be removed again? I need the head mesh to be able to change to whatever morph I use on Genesis 2 Male. And why is that when I use AutoFit with the figure on Genesis 1, that the custom bones don't get removed?
If the setup is correct then AutoFit won't run - I think the issue is the initial use of Figure Set-up rather than the Transfer utility; I would not use AutoFit as you don't want the mesh altered since it is already made to fit the figure.
Ok, when you say Transfer Utility. Do you mean the ones located here:

Well I managed to get my antennae figure to parent to Genesis 2 Male when loaded but it still won't auto-fit. Looks like I get to run "fit to" and go back and add the custom bones back in and re-save. I can't go the geo-graft route either without running auto-fit to get to be a geo-graft (according to the tutorial). I just don't understand how vendors who are selling geo-graft products have managed to get custom bones to work.
AutoFit is the tool that converts from one figure to another. Once converted and saved it shouldn't come up again for that item on that figure.
Nothing like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Tried adding the custom bones back after AutoFit and they don't seem to work (see image). I've been able to get it to work before AutoFitting because the figure is a Parametric figure with no weight mapping. I had tried previously to add custom bones to a weighted figure and ran into similar issues of rotations not working. Not exactly sure what I need to do to get the joints/bones to work.
