Stacking Holiday Discounts?

  • HEY DAZ! I'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE 5 AM TO GET MY FREE FIGURE! WHAT'S UP!? There, I got it out., I feel better now. I know some have been waiting longer than that. Will suck if the day ends and nobody got the freebie.

    It's working for me.

Do you have one of Today's new releases in the cart? What figure are you trying to get?

It's still not working for me. Have tried all day with multiple selections. This is very frustrating for some of us. It simply isn't working. At all!

  • I'm not getting either free figure or proper loyalty discounts applied.

  • I'm having the same problem. I just don't get what's going in.

If this were yesterday, there would have been a 30% new item discount, a 30% DAZ Original (on some) and a Holiday Loyalty discount (I was up to 54%), so, say Construction Worker would have been $5.62 (for me) instead of $6.99 as it stands now. The "Merry Christmas" promotion actually makes it all relatively more expensive, since there is no additional loyalty discount, unless it is being given to everyone, but what is the point of saying items are 60% off AND the private message saying the Holiday Loyalty discount is 60%? Let's hope it gets straightened out and is still valid tomorrow. Anyway, I've still got this month's coupons to blow on something else...

Anyway it seems to be the same today for Monday's reductions...

  • Not much is really compelling me to buy after all the bigger sales.  I'm surprised, really.  I thought there'd be a big After Christmas push as well.  I might pickup Giselle 6 with the new male hair...Although, I can't say that I really need either.  I do want the Wild Borders plant pack, though....

I know, I'm disappointed too. I loaded my cart once again for hours hoping it would be fixed, but looks like it will be another mass cart dump. I'm very appreciative of all the Christmas sales that actually did work, but have gone through soooo many hours for the last several months loading up my cart for sales that didn't work and then having to one by one dump them. I think there needs to be a button to "Move all to wishlist." It's just too time consuming.

I'd really like a checkbox multiple cart selection, so I could select multiple items to remove or move to the wishlist.  I have actually lost a whole cart of good deals on several occasions because I was unloading items one at a time when the prices changed.  I could have avoided that if I had been able to simply select all the items I didn't want in the cart all in one refresh.

  • Here's what I'm seeing at the moment:

If I select anything EXCEPT the Christmas day sales items, the 30% holiday loyalty discount is applied, but NOT the Christmas day discount (which I expect).

If I select any of the new releases from the Christmas day sales items, they trigger the 'purchase a new release' discount on any thing that needs one, but still NO Christmas day discount on the Christmas sales items.

If I select any of the Christmas day sales items AND/OR any of the featured artists items from the Christmas sales, I get NO holiday loyalty discount nor the Christmas day discount.

Earlier today, I had selected some of the featured artist items from the Christmas day sales and was getting a 20% discount and a 14% discount on random non-sales items.

I honestly have no idea what's still going on, but I figured I'd post this just for troubleshooting purposes.

  • I get the right discounts - 60% off Chruistmas day new releases (and the featured store item I add to test), stated discount plus loyalty reward on other items. Note that Emma and Jordi are no longer listed as a Featured PA for the 26th - if you checked out and didn't get the correct discount before they were removed please open a Sales Support Ticket.

Here's a question.   The loyalty discount when I first got it applied to the fast grab items.  Now, they do not.  Not complaining as those are already discounted heavily but was just curious.

You're right. That's strange. It should only exclude giftcards, at least that's what the fine print says. Although fastgrab has its own fine print.

Yes indeed.   It states specifically, on the fast grab page,  "

    • Fast Grab - Big Savings

Fast Grab discount does not combine with other discounts."

To be honest, since that fine print is there, I've seen it combine with other discounts more times than not combine.

Well, I'm dumping my cart. It started at $205, went down to $194, now up to $233. The discounts never worked correctly and I give up. If the 60% loyalty discount meant nothing, if everyone including first time buyers got the plain 60% discount with that day's new purchase, then what was the point of making it look like we had some special extra discount in a special secret message??? I thought it would be fixed when employees got back in the office, but now it seems some of the original featured artists' products went off sale already so prices went even further up.... I don't really need any of the stuff in my cart, but would have purchased it with the stacking discount. I can use the money for other things now, like rent...

    Ah, the silver lining.

$200+ is a lot to buy things first, but if there is something you really wanted from the Christmas Day sales page, you could purchase it and ask Customer Service for a refund of the 60% Loyalty Rewards Discount that wasn't applied. (And the cost of your G2 base figure, if it wasn't coming up as free.)

(genuine question) Were any customers not getting the "loyalty" discounts once they started increasing daily on the Christmas countdown (countup)? Initially the loyalty discounts were differentiated by some method, but then everyone seemed to get a boost, and then the daily increases began. At least, that's how I recall things.

I assumed the Christmas day 60% discount was applied on the store page rather than in the cart because it lasted several days instead of one day. It's still a nice 60% off brand new items, however it's applied. This looks quite in order to me, and I can't see why anyone would expect DAZ to sell new items at 84%+ off for a week. They may be insane, but they're not drooling idiots.

But then why send private coupons at all, if everyone is getting the same discount exactly as posted on the main page? It had been stacking all along and now suddenly it's not. Also Bobbie25's items are only 44% off and in the featured PA list AND Daz originals. Makes no sense.

    Quoted from the MO forum

I will straighten this out with Customer Service, but the intention was to offer everyone 60% off for the Christmas Day items.  This is greater than the amount offered on other new releases throughout the month which was 30%, plus the loyalty discount.  So, the intent was to give a gift to everyone, regardless of their loyalty level, and give them 60% off of the new items that day.  The messaging states that the discount replaces the Loyalty discount for those items, so there is no additional discount to be applied.  This discount was applied automatically and for everyone.  So there are not other, additional discounts to be honored or added by Customer Service.  The one exception to this is the PC+ discount on Daz Originals which stacks on top of the 60% (for a total discount of 72% off of a great selection of brand new items.)  Again, this was intended to be a gift to everyone by giving them 60% off of a bunch of really neat new bundles.

I apologize if this caused any confusion for anyone.

  • I was also getting the Loyalty discount on top of Fast Grab items up until a couple of days ago.  That made sense.  I mean, if the Loyalty Discount didn't stack, what's the point?  It is supposed to be an extra special discount for crazy folks like me that spend way too much time and money on this site....LOL

I'm fine with them doing the flat 60% off on new releases for Christmas.  But, that would have been easy to announce on the banner header, "Special just for Christmas Day New Releases...60% off retail price.  No other discounts will apply for this one time sale."

But, like others have said, I think it's perfectly understandable that most people would expect some sort of stacking discount in the same fashion that it had been going on at all week.  Probably, the Loyalty Discount could have been left at 30% with the across the board discount set at 50%.  That would make a $100 full price item, $35 - basically a 65% discount total for those with Loyalty Discount at 30%.  Those shoppers with no loyalty discount would still get a great deal at half off.  And of course, any PC+ discounts would still apply.

This would also make calculations a bit easier for the featured PAs as well, since all prices would simply reflect 50% off before adding to the cart.

Just throwing the ideas out there.  I can't say that I have any expertise with how the shopping cart software works.
