...Let's just say I'm very impressed. This is one heck of model, it looks like a ship one would see in a big SF film or television series poduction. Check out the product page, especially the video of its creation to get an idea of its scale.

Yeah, it looks terrific! And the skydome background thing is killer as well.

...with the sky/space dome, reminds me of shots from Babylon 5. Almost has the lines of an Earth Force cruiser. This and his drop ship have to be some of the best Sci Fi ships in the store.

I was reminded of Babylon 5 as well, but there's also a hint of the Event Horizon from the Paul W S Anderson movie.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Hey thanks guys! I really appreciate the positive feedback.

I put a HUGE amount of time and effort into this ship. Event Horizon is one of my favorite movies and was a big influence.

I'm also very proud of the Stardome. I love moving the camera around the ship.....looks really cool so I just had to do a few animated shots to show it off.

    Happy rendering!

    Stardomes would be awesome.

HDRI ones which would work with Reality 4, as 'smart IBL' spheres, would be even better, because there's zero which works with that for creating night or outer space scenes, sadly. But I'll definitely settle for 3Delight-only conventional ones. :)

Instantly purchased this and the description declaring it had tilting and rotating turrets, as well as an included stardome, made me even more glad that I did.

This ship is freakin amazing! Cant wait to add it to my runtime! Given a project I am working on, I am looking to see where I can fit this baby in!

But DV, I do have a question, what was you intentions of those 4 rectangular things toward the back of the ship on each side? I first thought they were engines, but when i saw the rear view discovered they were not.

Also, can someone please post a clearer view of the cockpit?

DV, I would really like to get a closer look of the cockpit. Can you please post a render of it from the inside?

    Hope this helps

    Love this ship.

Got to get it when I got the money.

This is certainly one of the best items I have seen here.
    Thanks so much.

the ship has an interior!? How did I miss that? I had thought the cockpit was all there was with a solid wall behind it (Attached pic).

That is a must have, and yes also because of the B5 like Star-domes. In the past I just tried to use Hubble images on planes outside windows (That or photos from ISS).

Can someone please help me with something with this ship?  The descrption says that doors 1-4 open/close.  For the life of me, I only see 2.  Can someone point out where all 4 doors that open/close are?

    Hey MJ

There's two doors on each side, an other door and an inner door, an airlock system.

Can you possibly show a render pointing at these doors?  For the life of me, and ive looked at renders of this ship all over, and i only see 2 "possible" doors, but not even sure if those are really the doors that open/close.

The first image is the door location....there are two doors on each side of the ship, one inner and one outer. One is directly in front of the other

Second image is of the two right side doors, outer one opens in the up direction and inner is closed.

If you hide the ships main body, you should be able to see all four.

    Hope this helps

Oh ok.  The ship has mirrored doors on each side of the ship and they have an inner and outer door that open/close.
I saw the second image and thought that was the door leading to the cockpit.  Ive looked at several images and it appears the entrance to the cokpit open/closes as well. True?

Thanks for the clarification. I really dig this ship.

    -MJ

  • Afraid not MJ. Was running out of space inside, it world have been very difficult to include a door into the conpit that would look good in any good camera angles.
