Hair and clothes looking strange

I'm pretty new to Daz, mostly I've just been working on posing and camera angles etc. I'm hoping to get good enough to use the images for book covers. I'm struggling with getting the adam hair and comfy winter sweater to look right though. The sweater looks shiny, and the hair doesn't look natural at all. Not sure where to even look for how to fix these? Is there a relatively simple way, or should I look for some new content? I've included a pic.

    Hmm. As soon as I uploaded the pic here, it all looks fine? No idea why.

    Edit: I'm going to blame windows photo viewer. From now on I'll check all my renders in photoshop!

    Or grab IrfanView, it's what I always use. A free lightweight image viewer which also allows you to do some basic editing (converting, applying effects, etc.) And it'll be a lot lighter on your system than Photoshop.
