Merry Christmas everyone, it's 56 and bright and sunny here in Phoenix.
Storm Signal #3 out here with Typhoon Nina (international name "Nock Ten), so pretty much this. Howling winds and leaking roof. Just hoping no power failure or internet interruptions so I can keep working.
Oh my, stay safe!!!!!
Hope you keep your internet! (With us, it wasn't just the internet going down after a hurricane, it was the 10-14 days for it to come back on that was the misery. That was back in 2005, no hurricanes in the Florida Panhandle since then. Wow, 11 years. Talk about overdue! Anyway, hope it works out well for you and that roof doesn't get worse.
37°C? (you mean 'F' if you can see your breath, right?)
We had 20°C or so here yesterday (Boxing Day already here) so felt cool but not cold.
Oh wow! I second what Novica said - please stay safe! I hope you and your loved ones are already prepared and staying safe! *hugs*
Well, here it is well into Boxing Day and it is a mild day in Auckland, NZ. Of course, like most of the world outside the USA, we use C not F.
Yeah, I live in the United States and I always get F and C confused and often say "C" instead of "F" on accident - because many other people use C instead of F. We really need to do like most of the world and start using Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. We also need to transfer to the metric system already. Sheesh. The rest of the world is like "what's an inch? what's a foot" and we're like "a meter? how big is that?" lol. REALLY stupid to not use what most of the other countries are using.
It was F for me when I was at school in England (they changed that later) and I hated conversion questions in tests. Fahrenheit is so cumbersome though: 32 for freezing point and 212 for boiling? What could be easier than 0 and 100? I admit I still think of body temperature as 98.4 ... some habits die hard.
34 F today in Ohio. Getting warmer as the evening goes on though, its going to be 44 F at 3am. Hitting close to 60 and rain tomorrow then 37 and sunny on tuesday
Ah, yeah, I do that a lot because I talk to a lot of people outside of the US. They say "C" and so often times I accidently say C instead of F. lol Stupid American system. SO backwards compared to the rest of the world. And don't even get me started on why we still use Feet and Inches instead of the Metric system.
53 and drizzling in Somerset
68 Degrees/20 Celsius, raining hard in Northeast Tennessee USA this afternoon .
..yeah but metric system just doesn't work well for things like songs, literature, and such.
Somehow "I would walk 804.67 Kilometers and I would walk 804.67 more..." just doesn't have the right rhythm
"Hey 37.0 it's so good to have you back again..." doesn't seem to give the same feeling.
"Kilometers to go before I sleep" doesn't sound quite as poetic
"A Man 3.048 Metres Tall" just doesn't seem as impressive.
Then there's the old saying "Give them 240 cm and they'll take 1.609 km" ...mmm....no.
...and a 37.854 Liter Hat? Really?
Ha Ha Ha good point
it's -17 C here in Saskatchewan Canada, we have weather warnings of snow and blowing snow, 1 km visibility and threats of 20 to 50 cm of snow. hopefully it will go southeast of us more into manitoba before it moves north. Last weekend it was -36 plus windchill and even tho my truck was plugged in it wouldn't start in the morning to go to work and I had to get it boosted. I ask myself every winter "why do I live on the canadian prairies?" LoL
We live on the Canadian prairies because it's the best place in the world to live.
Four real seasons (hot summers, cold winters, real falls and real springs), every year. Never boring!
In Winnipeg, Manitoba, it's -8° Celsius at the moment, but heading for -21; snow's coming down, with 20 to 30 centimetres expected throughout the night, so fresh air and excerise (snow shovelling) is scheduled for the morning.
Snuggling down in our sun room with my wife, watching a bunny nibbling on some of her flowers still popping up out of the snow.
Love it. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

We had a lovely sunny day just shy of 70 here in Georgia today. I took a nice walk in shorts and a button down so it was really nice.
Daytime temps here (inland Australia, before the ground turns red) seem to be stuck in the mid 30s celsius.
Merry Christmas everyone!
A chilly -24C here in North Central British Columbia, Canada this morning, has warmed up to an almost "balmy" -17C tonight. Hardly any snow yet this winter, I'm sure it will come sooner or later though!
sunny & hovering around the 26° to 29° Celcius here in the Shoalhaven...
We hit 36 F today - north central Indiana; the 8 inches of snow that we got locally the last 10 days or so is just about gone and they're talking high 40s or low 50s tomorrow, with a possiblity of rain.
6C and sunny here in Oxford, looks to be a fine Boxing day. Storms up in Scotland though.
We only have 3c and feeling like -1c but the sun is shining so it looks nice out when viewed through the windows.
OMG don't try the kitty litter. When that stuff melts you're stuck with a neverending mushy mess! I did that last year and I couldn't bring my boots into the house, I had to take them off in the garage. They're still in there from last winter.
Thanks for the concern, Novica and Diva. Well, the worst of the storm's passed. Power and the net stayed on, thankfully. Roof held up, though there's more leaking than before. It's likely one of the major costs this 2017 (which will eat at my DAZ budget *sigh*
).
Well. here in Calgary it has finally stopped snowing, we got about 20Cm, since Friday AM. Last night was -25C, but has warmed up today to -9C.. Nice bright sunny day, bit of a windchill, though at -15C
Just back from a walk...
Out behind our place..
Looks like the river is beginning to ice up..
Merry Christmas all: it was a balmy 44° F in Northeast Ohio on Sunday and has been progressively warmer since then. What snow we did have seems to have turned the yard into a swamp. :(
