Is anyone else having trouble adding gift cards to their cart?

My father in law has tried to add a gift card to the cart three times now after completing the required fields. It does not seem to be working? Is anyone else having trouble with gift cards?

How is he wanting to pay for it?   you cannot buy gift cards with Store credit,  ie you can't use a gift card to buy a gift card.

We cant even get that far. We go to the store page, fill out the info and then click add to cart. It is never added to the cart.

    Merry Xmas Chohole!

yes I was going to suggest that actually, as something to try.  We have had a wee bit of problems with the store and forum software the last couple days,  and it is just possible that a reboot or a hard refreshh or even just log off and then log on again can jolt the cache if it is sticking.

  • Ok, just got back on. Will try again.

  • Nah... No dice. Ill quit and we can try again in a bit.

Try double checking the amount. Be sure there is a decimal pont and not a comma. Be sure all zero's are the number 0 and not the letter O.

Be sure the email address is valid.

Those are a couple of areas I've made mistakes with in the past.

Ok, we finally got it to go through.

Here is the bug if anyone wants to confirm. Chohole maybe you can pass this one on to daz?

Entering a dollar sign ($) before the amount of credit you want ($5.00) will cancel the transaction when pressing the add to cart button. I just reproed it a couple times. A decimal point does not seem to affect the sale.

Going to try one more time to see if I can repro again.

    Yah... 100% repro.

Yes. That is another error in the amount that I had forgotten about.

Do you do this in other online stores? I've never put anything except just a number in any store I've bought stuff from, because it's always obvious that I'm paying in either dollars or pounds sterling (depending on which side of the Pond the store is based). The store software DAZ uses has been cranky enough at the best of times ever since it was introduced a few years ago, adding the $ symbol probably triggered some error condition the programmers never considered likely.

Yes was going to say.   no reason to report that, as it is normal behaviour.

Ok. It is a bit confusing however because the message that is displayed says "Minimum: $1.00 Maximum: $2,000.00" just below the text entry box. So maybe daz should remove the dollar sign from that message. A text change would be an easy fix. From the look of that message, it would appear that the user needs to enter a dollar sign.
