Is Victoria 4 a part of Genesis 1?

Is it a part of Genesis 1? If not is it already downloaded in Daz like the base Genesis 1-3 figures?

No, V4 was the figure before all the Genesis figures and must be purchased separately.

Can you give me a link of the Victoria 4 base figure?

http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-base. But you will need separate face/body morphs and expressions to really do anything with it...

V4 is pretty outdated, imo. The joints and bends do not look as good as the genesis figure, imo.

But if you do want to get V4 still, I'd recommend getting one of her bundles like the starter bundle: http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-complete or one of the other bundles. As to do any adjustments to her shape or look you need the morphs, like Wonderland said.

V4 also sometimes goes on sale for REALLY low prices. I think I picked up her and one of her bundles for like $4 a few months ago.

True this. Sometimes the generation 4 figures are even given away for free during special sales events (even the Starter or Pro bundles, when you're lucky).

Generation 4 is certainly still popular among the Poser crowd since it's the most advanced one without jumping through hoops (like the DSON converter for the Genesis lines).

Very true with V4 and Poser, but the most interesting thing is that of all the Genesis line, Genesis 1 is the most friendly when it comes to using Poser after Victoria 4 of course..

The other good thing about Genesis 1 if I remember right ( or could be totally wrong ) is that Victoria 4 textures will go straight onto Genesis 1 with little to no modification.

Genesis 2 actually because of the DSON format. Some genesis 1 producta are actually in the old dsf format and won't load at all in Poser.

To the OP: are you using Poser or DS? If DS, then it's probably better to go with Genesis as the technology behind V4 is over 10 years old.

I got interested in V4 because I wanted to try the Beautiful Monsters product by traveler and it requires V4, can it be used in genesis 3?

    Technically yes

For the monster morphs you will have to buy the  GENX2 plugin and transfer them to G3

for the skin maps you will have to use something like the V4 to G3 UV set from cayman studios at rosity, or some similar solution.

My advise assumes that are using Daz studio to render.

If you are using one of the hacks to get G3 into poser
all of what I have suggested is likely not relevent  thus should be disregarded

That's correct. Genesis 1's UV natively accepts Generation 4 textures (V4, M4, F4, A4, H4, Kids 4, etc.) without the need for an additional plugin or product, though a little tweaking may be required sometimes.

  • If you want to get into v4 id recommend getting Perfect V4 over at renderocity. It will definetely help with all of the wierd bends in her arms, body, etc. But your not limited to just that product. There is also Beautiful Bends here at daz and many, many other corrective morph sets for v4. She's a really fun figure and has an outstanding selection of outfits. You can also find iray converters for her here at daz. My favorite is http://www.daz3d.com/iray-converter-for-generation-4 by V3Digitimes.

...and she has 10 years worth of commercial and freebie products. Some of them by very talented artists that don't produce anything anymore. If you have a particular clothing item in mind that you are trying to duplicate, you are far more likely to find a V4 version of it than any other figure.

Still the techology is 10 years old and a lot of issues that occurred with V4 has long been fixed with Genesis, you also have access to that same V4 clothing if you want it.
