Can't find where to put textures.
in New Users
I bought Circe Outfit which is loaded into DAZStudio.. but I have some textures that are made outside of DAZ that I could use in Poser.. if Circe could be loaded there. So.. my question is.. how and where can I load there textures in DAZ or how can I load Circe into Poser? I only downloaded DAZ yesterday and it is going to be a hugh learning curve after using Poser for so long so I hope I can get some help here. Thanks

Basically, you have to make the directory that holds the textures known to DAZ studio, in both the Poser and DAZ studio formats.
You'll then find the directory in your Content Directory, rather than the Smart content. Normally, textures can be easily loaded, but it depends on what type of trexture it is (plain maps, or pz-presets). Is the texture in subdirectories? Or just simple jpeg files?
As for Poser, I'm afarid I can't help you with that.
If you're just planning on using the texture maps, jpg, png etc, then all you really need to do is to place the particular map, whether the base texture(usually colored), bump, normal, displacement, etc in the correct channel under the Surfaces tab.
Each dial, mostly, has a drop down to the left of the particular channel that allows you to change the map of that channel to something else.
When you open that button you'll get a list of all the textures currently loaded in a scene, with the options of Browse or None at the top of the list, above the break line.
Just use the Browse option, opens a windows file explorer, to go to the location you have saved the textures to and add it to that channel.
Adjust related settings accordingly to get a better look.
When you've achieved the look you want save it as a "material preset" and you'll be able to reuse those settings in the future.
Regarding Mapping.
Unless the textures you'll be using conform to the Poser runtime format, runtime\textures\(product), you'll actually want to Map them under Other formats so daz can find them in the future.
Be aware that these folders may appear to be empty when viewed through daz studio, depending on content contained within.
If you do have it saved in the native poser runtime format, you'll only need to map the folder under Poser formats and not under both poser and daz formats.
If you map it under daz formats as well you'll juse have what appears to be an empty folder even though it contains texture maps.
This is an unfortunate confusion many users have that it has to be mapped under both formats, when it doesn't.
on to importing into poser.
The short answer, don't bother.
Because of differences in poser and daz studio's render engines, the best you might accomplish is to apply certain textures to certain channels, which of course may or may not translate between software. Shader setings are insanely different, such as white doing one thing in poser while doing the complete opposite in daz studio.
The other problem is that this outfit is a G3f outfit and poser doesn't play well with g3f.
There are ways to get g3f into poser, but just like g1 and g2, it's kind of hit or miss on what will or won't work properly.
Just like some poser content doesn't work correctly in daz studio.
The best you might be able to do is to export from daz studio as OBJ format, and import into poser, but you'll lose all rigging and morphs and be left with a static figure.
And of course you can't use material room at all on it if you plan to render in daz studio.
