Similar look and similar persona but that was her younger sister, Eva Gabor.  She died in 1995.  People often mistook them for each other.

Their oldest sister, Magda, died in 1997.

  • You just know that even though Death got her in the end, she slapped his face first.

Yep, I'm sure!  I'm amazed that she reached the grand old age of 99!  That's quite an accomplishment.

Or a curse. wink  But even Mae West only made it to 87 but then her makeup & boobs cracked and the sawdust fell out. devil

Funny how these news items take you by surprise - in the wrong way. My first thought was 'She was still alive???

That is partially explained by how often she was confused with her sister...

When the film "A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4" was being made, Dick Cavett was asked who he would most like to see killed by Freddy for the little Dick Cavett Show bit in the film. He said Zsa Zsa Gabor... because she was positively the dumbest person he'd ever met in his life.

I knew she was still alive, but every time someone came up 2016's 'hit list' I was surprised she wasn't on it. She seems to have been living in the worst of health on borrowed time for years now, and it could well have come as a release to her rather than a tragedy. RIP.

Zsa Zsa tended to play the more sultry, sexy parts, though I think Eva had the broader range. Her sis seemed to prefer the lighter, often comedic roles -- the spy sent in to seduce Jerry Lewis in Artists and Models, for example. She was terrific as the foil in Green Acres.

I've read several Zsa Zsa obits in the news, and only a few of them even mention her  sisters. I think a lot of people thought they were all one person. My favorite  Zsa Zsa  bit was in the second Naked Gun movie, where at the end of the credits she gets out of her Rolls and slaps the police car that's pulled her over. (Her dialogue not printable here.)

Tonight, I will watch Queen of Outer Space, again (groan).  The ultimate campy sci fi movie.

    RIP glamourous lady.
