how to get rid of white eyelid reflections in the eyes

Hi everyone!

I'm new to Daz3d and using this programm for about 2 weeks. Does anyone know how to get rid of these strange white eyelid reflections in the eyes? See attachment.

Any help would be appreciated!

Best regards, Rudy

  • That's the tear/Eye Moisture surface - it can be adjusted in the Surfaces pane separately from the rest of the eye. Is that Iray or 3Delight, and are you using materials made for the renderer?

  • Hi Richard, I assumed it has something to do with te tears. I render in Iray. I don't use materials made for the renderer. I'm new to Daz3d. A week ago I saw the programm for the first time. But I'm going to look at the tears in the Surfaces pane. Thanks.

  • You could try one of the water shader presets - with the surface selected in the list in the Surface pane Editor tab (and with the figure itself selected in the scene) go to the Presets tab of Surfaces and in the category list on the left select Shader Presets>Iray, then type water in the filter box at the top of the pane. This film water is, I think, the standard suggestion.

The tears surface is actually a 'box' so the 'water' would be more appropriate, but it tends to refract a little too much for the given size, so 'thin'/'film' is more often used, because it doesn't have the refraction through a thickness.
