Postwork Help Please
in New Users
I have seen a lot of people talk about postwork in either photoshop or paint shop pro and I would like to ask if there are any tutorials to help on postwork. I am wanting my daz characters to look like a drawing and more real not like a doll. Thanks so much.

I'm not good at that but if you have Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or GIMP you can download from Google the Nik Collection of image filters some of which make a render look like a watercolor, charcoal sketch, colored pensil drawing, pastels, and so on - not as good as actually doing it yourself which your own hands but pretty good.
Thanks I appreciate it.
Also Dreamlight has postwork tutorials; if you search "postwork" in the store ten things come up. And lots of people post to Youtube. I've looked at some of this woman's video [Adobe staffer] and have found one or two of them to be a bit... intense. http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/tag/content-aware-fill
Note that you can sort her stuff by date, and she lists her own web page not just Adobe's but I've spent less time on that one.
About "drawing" by the way there is a whole thing separate thing going on with line rendering if that helps. Some recent products have been posted eg. since the summer IIRC.
There are lots of great tutorials on photoshop and gimp on Youtube. I personally like the Phlearn channel and more recently I have been enjoying the Bluebird 3D channel and Black Sun Comics channel too. They are more related to DAZ/Poser and give some great advice.
To let your characters look more real and less like a doll, that is not a question of postwork; it is a question of the used skin, hair and so on and of lighting of the scene...
There is also the possibility that later meshes like Genesis 2 and 3, with high quality skins and make-up, eye effects and so on, will look a bit better than the M3 or M4 and V3, V4.2 figures say.
