MicroCosm vs TerraDome 1 in DS

I am aware of the DS version of TerraDome 3.  I have doubts about my system's ability to handle it.  Well, that and it's Iray, when 3DL better serves my needs much of the time.  Still it is on my wishlist.

I have most (if not all) the old MicroCosm add on morphs, which is what I currently use when I need landscapes and such, but the TerraDome Base Pack Bundle is currently in the "choose one Free" category.  With the caveats that I have doubts about my system's ability to handle TerraDome 3, and I know fully well that I'll have to set up my own shaders/materials because TerraDome 1 is designed for Poser - is it worth getting the bundle?  There are a few other items in that category I could use - though not many, and all at considerably less cost than the bundle.  But if there's no substantial advantage between TerraDome 1 and MicroCosm when used in Daz Studio (both require extensive adjustments to materials, for example), I'll look harder at those others.

Terradome uses PMDs for morphs and some shaders rather than textures so it's probably unusable in DS.

Ah.  I was worried about that.  I know there's a script around here somewhere to help (and I think I still have DS3 installed for just such a thing... maybe.)

Okay, going to look at what else is in there.  Thanks.

It's possible to substitute 3dl shaders; you lose out on the layered texture of TD3 and atmosphere effects.

imo, the morphing geography makes it still worthwhile, but that's your decision to make.

See, I have that with MicroCosm.  (and as I said, TD3 is on the wish list, I was thinking about getting TD1 as it's in a bundle in the "Get one free" category)  which is why I was wondering if there was a significant advantage to TD1, when I have to rebuild most of the shaders anyway.

Of course, now it's moot because all the TerraDome stuff has been pulled from the category.  Probably wasn't supposed to be in there in the first place.
