Animated Profile Pic?

So there are a few here who have animated profile pics. (animated gifs)  I tried to upload one and it just was a static image.  Does that require special permission, or is there a trick to it?

    I finally found a post where they said old avatars carried from the old site worked still, new ones on gravatar did not  sad

    Oh well, I added one in my sig instead  cheeky

    She's cute.  Yeah, I believe that I read that somewhere, too.  I've been asked a time or two about that and that is the info I always pass on when asked.  I would love to be able to have an animated gif as my avatar. That wasn't something I did in the old forums.  I was too new at the time to really get into that.  Now, I wish I had before the opportunity got lost.  :)

    Mine still works,   but then I have had this avatar since I first became a Mod.   It was done as a joke, and everyone thought it was a great avatar for a Moderator, and then Someone animated it for me.  And yes It carried over from the older software.

    Dude, you've got the BEST avatar.  Scares the crap outta' me when it pops up cuz I KNOW I've done something wrong.
