  • I'm not sure what the rte is.  Melody installs with DIM now so I assume that it doesn't need this now?  I have her installed through DIM although, tbh, I haven't actually used her yet.  I've picked up so many great Poser only RDNA characters that I haven't had a chance to try them all out yet.

    rte was the encoding thingie.

encryption in the old days, basically smiley

oh they in a bundle  http://www.daz3d.com/melody-and-micah-bundle
    same price as the individual

The reason why Micah was encoded is that Runtime DNA did not have the rights to use the mesh of Aiko 3.

Since Runtime DNA is now a part of Daz 3D, rte is no longer needed.

ja smiley  was my logic behind posting this question.

was hoping for verification,  i hate returning stuff.

last rdna thing i bought turned out to be a poser dynamic dress, not mentioned in product details. >.<

I have bought Melody and Micah bundle from Daz3D and they are not encoded (at least at the time I have downloaded them),

but I have no way to proof or verify it to you. If you want to be sure, just contact Daz 3D support.

Artini is correct, files like this were encooded to make sure that those using them had bought the original figures.  Merging RDNA into Daz 3d meant that it was no longer neccessary to encode the files using RTE encoder.

  • Does anyone know how t use this product? I also own Micah and the furries bundle but I cannot figure out where to locate these to use a scene. I am also pretty new to Daz Studio so if you could give me a step y step how to load them would be fine.  What I have done so far is load A3 or H3 but I can't find Melody or Micah transforms or the furries transform. that is where I am stuck.

During the PA sale, there was a day when some fun-looking stuff was available for Melody and Micah, but the product pages (e.g. Furries for Micah) seem to indicate you need a base that the pages don't link to. And I couldn't find Micah by searching in the store, so I figured these furry products are expansion sets for stuff longtime Poser users may have, stuff that isn't actually sold here in the DAZ store. I let the sale pass because I couldn't find the required products. There are actually quite several furry products in the store, but no apparent way to use them.

So I'm surprised to see the Melody thing discussed above. Just in case the furry sale ever comes around again, is there actually any way for a new user to get Micah?

    Melody is still here: https://www.daz3d.com/melody-for-a3

Micah and the bundle don't seem to be in the store anymore. I think Micah was made by Redspark, whose store here was closed recently.

My understanding was Melody incorporated the A3 mesh so she could wear Aiko 3 clothes and Micah incorporated H3 mesh so he could wear Hiro 3 clothes. Neither are morphs of either A3 or H3 but independent figures so that was the need for RTE encoder to verify that the user had bought the base figures. This would still be the case even when the products were moved to DAZ, unless DAZ just gave them a pass and is not requiring the user to own either A3 or H3 in order to use these cool characters. I guess that is the case if they can be installed via DIM.

    Hip and Head were modified.

  • Nice to see a discussion on this but does anyone know how to use them or where to find the furries in the content library?

Content Library/Poser Formats/Whichever library you downloaded to/Figures/Micah (or Melody) for the base figures.

Content Library/Poser Formats/Whichever library you downloaded to/Pose/Micah (or Melody) for the textures

The default library DIM uses is /My DAZ 3D Library/

There are morphs for bending the tail under the tail "bones", you can select one, some or all to get flowing curves. All third generation poses seem to work ok eg Hiro3 or Mike3 etc.

    Edit:

Sorry rtester, I miss-read you. I have my furries in the wrong runtime library but will post a screen-cap soon(ish) but basically they are in the same places but with /CDI/ between Pose or Figure  and Micah or Melody.

This product and Beth Capsces' "Furries for..." allowed me to depict in 3D a character I originally created in graphite during March of 1985.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Thanks for the help. Yeah, I just used the default setting I believe. So I do not need to load Hiro 3 or Aiko 3 up first? And then morph them to the furries?

That's right. Under Figures/CDI/Furries there are base figures for Furries Mel and Furries Micah. Start with those, don't load Hiro or Aiko.

Edit: Lets see if I can upload the image that goes with the words this time.

In addition to Melody and Micah there were the CDI Furries for both figures.

    IM00024993-01_FurriesforMelody - https://www.daz3d.com/furries-for-melody

    IM00024994-01_FurriesforMicah - https://www.daz3d.com/furries-for-micah

You need to add the CDI Melody/Micah figure to your scene, then add your Head/Tail morphs to the CDI figure, next apply the skin texture.

The CDI Melody and Micah can be found in the Poser Formats - My DAZ 3D Library - Figures - CDI - Furries

The CDI head and tail morphs can be found in Poser Formats - My DAZ 3D Library - Pose - CDI - Furries

The additional character skins can be found in Poser Formats - My DAZ 3D Library - Pose - Melody

EDIT_ Beaten to the draw, had lunch then answered.

Thanks to both of the above people and everyone else who commented. I found the figures and faces from the first post and I found the textures from the second post the second post directory structure seemed to match up with what mine is for some reason I could not find the StdAlone directory. But I found the figures anyways from the list. and then I could not find the textures until I was about to post asking where they are and I saw your post also. I guess I only have 1 texture for both each figure at the moment I thought I was buying textures but I was not it seems.  Where does one get more textures for the Furries? Also one more quick question how do I reset the poses of the furries? after I set a pose I tried to use the Aiko 3 reset but I was getting an error when I tried to use it on Melody or Micah once again. THANK YOU ALL.
