Specularity/Glossiness Problem

I'm working on a space ship.. I have made a hull texture that has black and white aztecs.. I put it in the Glossy Layered Weight channel (Glossy Color is white) and it seems to have little effect.     What are your values for the Glossy Layered Weight and Glossiness parameters?
    Try the glossy-texture in the glossy color channel.

    What is the render engine: iRay or 3Delight?
    Taht'll make a big difference in the behaviour of the parameters.

    Thanks! That seems to do the trick.. I was laboring under the assumption that "weight" controlled where it was specular and "color" was the appearance of the resulting specularity.. apparently not, lol

    (ps. Iray, all I'm using these days, trying to familiarize with Iray texture creation)

    (EDIT: Actually, it's the "Glossy Roughness" channel.. I made a cube and tried my map in each channel until it hit.)
