installing DAZ on bare secondary drive

i have 3 hard drives in my pc, one dedicated to my OS and main programs, one for just games, and the third for backup of all my daz rar/zip files (not the program/runtime itself). i want to install DAZ on this third drive to free up space on my main drive since my runtime is getting ridiculously huge. problem is, i know some things are installed to folders such as documents and so on. how can i get all of this to install only on the drive i want?

I don't use DIM, but as long as you map the location of your libraries in DS, they can be anywhere on your PC

Quick question, do you mean just install the DAZ|Studio program and leave the content files where they are? Or do you want to move the content and leave the program installed where it is?

Keep in mind that the program as installed on your computer isn't really all that large, while the content can be... erm... <looks at my own several content folders> slightly enormous, and it will keep growing as you buy more stuff.

You don't have to install both in the same place — in fact, by default they shouldn't do that, since the program goes into your Program Files folder, and content into your My Documents folder.

A few more things, do you only have DAZ content, or have you bought or accumulated freebies from other stores? And did you install your DAZ stuff using the Install Manager, or Connect, or manually?

I have mine backed up in a portable HDD (and I plan to get another one or two... Can't be too safe, as I've learned from hard experience). It works just fine as long as you map out the same way as mentioned prior. DAZ Studio has advanced enough that it searches for missing files provided they're in the same library. That said, there are still some products that need to be manually located (usually older products/freebies). But there's no way of knowing until it's done. So steel yourself for the grunt work ahead if it comes to that.
