Installation via DIM - two issues
Hello DIM experts. Help. DIM did not install some of my content where I told it to. Daz's initial response was to tell me to uninstall everything and reinstall to my C: drive, which is not an option. How do I get DIM to install something where I tell it, if it appears that DIM has some sort of override? Although the current problem was with Carrara content, you will see below that Daz's response suggests this will be an occasional problem for all of my content, Studio included.
I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows. The C: drive is relatively small and is reserved for Windows and similar support programs. User programs and content go to the larger D: drive. All of my Daz programs (Studio, Carrara, and Bryce) are installed to my D: drive. My settings for DIM let DIM know where my Daz programs are installed on the D: drive. My settings also tell DIM where to place the content for those programs on my D: drive. Usually works.
Issue 1
I recently bought a Daz product that had both a Studio version and a Carrara version (Tangy Orchard). I havea custom installation for Carrara content through DIM because of the D: drive issue discussed above. The Carrara version was not installed to either (a) where my Carrara program was installed, or (b) where I told DIM to install Carrara content. Instead, inexplicably, DIM create a new subfolder in the Studio directory and installed the Carrara scene there all by its lonesome. DIM had to override my settings to do so.
Issue 2
When I reported the issue, I was told to uninstall everything and reinstall to to my C: drive.
If you want more details, the help ticket number is (#231362) It includes screenshots of my DIM settings and the subfolders where DIM installed the files despite my settings.

We can't see your ticket - please post your screenshots here.
Thanks.
I guess I should not post just before leaving the house. The screenshots are attached to a post in the Tangy Orchard commercial thread, but this is really a DIM installation issue, not an issue wth the set. The scene worked fine once I found it. I just don't want DIM installing more stuff in random places.

What does the Applications tab in DIM show?

Well, that looks as if it should work - though it also appears you are installing the content in the application folder, which may have issues.
Yes, some Carrara content has to go to the application folder (tree presets...). However, DIM is told to install general Carrara content to a "Stuff for Carrara" folder while the application is in a "Daz\Carrara 8.5" folder. In the first set of screen shots, you will see that the Medieval Hall and Garden scene was installed where DIM is told to install purchased scenes for Carrara. However, with the same DIM settings, not only is the TangyOrchard scene not installed to the same location as Medieval Hall and Garden by the same PA, it is not even installed in the folder area where Carrara content resides - instead it is in the Studio folder area. The installation from DAZ seems to have overridden my DIM settings in order to install it to the wrong place. Or, my DIM has gone wacky. I can get the scene to work now that I have found it, I just dont want DIM to scatter my purchased content to random places.
The help response was to tell me to uninstall everything from my D: drive and install it to my C: drive, which is not an option with my operation system / drive setup.
Could you try setting the paths for Carrara as as if it was on C: and then uninstall/reinstall Tangy Orchard - just as a test, to see where it ends up. That may well be what support wanted, just to make sure the issue was in the isntaller and not a quirk of your paths. I don't see any issue with the manifest file in the Carrara zip, however, so I'm not sure where the issue could be.
