Lighting issues

I'm using the Level 19 from the sci-fi bundle and the Generic Sci-fi Corridor together. After applying several shaders and using Sci-fi Warrior Lights, I can get a the corridor to render in darkness with the shaders providing some basic lighting. However, when I try to render Level 19 with the same blue spot lights in a dark room that is provided, it renders itself with no blue lighting and a room that is fully lit. What do I need to change to just get the dark room with blue lights?

  • Daz Studio? If so, Iray or 3Delight?

  • Daz and Iray. The corridor is dark because the default light placement is outside the walls. That is why the shaders give emit some light. Level 19 should only have the blue light within itself as the major source. All other lights are underneath since the prop is raised. So it should be dark with only a section being lit. And even if i delete the unwanted lights and keep the blue lights provided, it still brightens up the entire room.

  • Do you have the environment mode in Render Settingss et to Scene only, assuming the light set is scene lights? Level 19 doesn't have a left wall to block the HDRI if it is on.

  • That did help. Thanks.

  • Don't forget Iray also includes a default Headlamp attached to each camera in your scene. If you don't turn this off (or turn them all off in Render Settings) you will have a mystery bright light washing out all your shadows.
