  • Yes - Kaspersky is known to give a false postive reading for that file. You may, of course, want to use an on-demand scanner such as malwareBytes as a double-check.

At least they are giving the option this time...

  • Hello, I too am having issues with my Kaspersky program interfering with Daz 3d. It keeps giving me false positives and then when I try to load the program, it blocks any and all file associated with it. It's driving me crazy. I've unloaded and reloaded the Daz program and still keep getting the same result.

here a file of what I just got from my vulnerability scan.

Yes, freeimage.dll and Kaspersky have been at odds lately.  Freeimage has been defined as a 'hacking tool' and not malware itself!

You need to whitelist it, Postgre...and everything else Daz related (I'm surprised they aren throwing a fit about Qt stuff) it's seems Kaspersky has gone anti-OpenSource or something.

My situation is a bit different. I only get the Pink image on some renders, not all. I have all of my old Daz Programs and the freeimage.dll is not in any of the zip files.

The complaint about freeimage.dll should be directed at Nvidia...since it is REQUIRED by Iray.

    Was required by Iray.

This file hasn't been included for quite a while. The earliest version i don't see it in is 4.9.3.166, from 2017.

Might have been removed in 4.9.2.70, but i can't verify as i only have the exe's and not the zips.

Doesn't your antivirus have a place where you can submit a potential false positive? They may request that you create some logs and possibly upload a file then they look at it and will whitelist it they determine it is a false positive. Both Webroot and Malwarebytes do that.

Malwarebyes has a forum with a topic for False Positives. They have some instructions on what to do to report it for review.

For Webroot, you contact support. They give you a file to run to collect some information and then you upload it. They review it and get back to you tell you their findings and if they whitelisted it.
