Who is this "Morph3D" spamming me?

And why did they get my Daz3D-specific mail address (something like "[email protected]")?...

Morph3D is a subsidiary of Daz 3D geared towards game assets for Unity.

And basically everyone getting the Daz newsletters gets Morph3D, too...

Okay, so it's legit. Thanks everybody.

One last thing though, question for the mods; I'm registered at Daz since 2004, last purchase a week ago, had over 6000 posts in the old forums - how comes my posts now require moderator approval???

They don't now, as far as I can see - your posts should be going straight through. However, if you hadn't posted for a while the first one might have been held as we had to introduce a verficiation step for "new" posters to block the spam floods a few months back, and that marked people who had not posted on the current incarnation of the forum as new along with the really new.

Sorry, I was a little vague. Yes, it's as Richard said, it's the first post which triggered the "approval" process. the second went through normally.

If that's the reason I can definitely relate, I know the everlasting war on forum spammers all too well...  :o)

Thanks and have a good day.

I don't get the Daz newsletter, but I got the morph one.

Wondering what it was, I went to the website.  I searched everywhere.  At no point did I find an explanation of exactly what morph3d was.

    Terrible website, in my opinon.

Morph3D is a subsidiary of Daz 3D geared towards game assets for Unity.

And Unity is?  If you can't tell, I am not a gamer.

Unity is a realtime animation program as well and it is getting only bettter and better.

Many people are using it for architectural visualization, virtual reality or creating visual novels, so it is not only for games.

Personal version of Unity is free and can be used like that, if your yearly income is less than $100 000.

Next year, they promise to integrate Otoy Octane render to Unity, so everyone who using Unity will get it for free.

With that addition (not real time), it will be possible to render animations, even with better quality, as well.

I use Unity for rendering purposes, as well. The example below took only a couple of miliseconds to render, due to the pre-baked lights.

Anyway, even with the pre-baked lights, it is easy to explore a large assets from different point of view and make quickly an animation or a series of pictures.

That's odd, I don't — only the regular and PC+ newsletters. I don't have any use for Morph3D stuff anyway, so...

  • I want the unity animations in Daz... xD

Loved the plugin called, "Locomotion System"... That would make daz animations rule, where it struggles the most... on walking in any environment.

Now I want to play with unity again. xD (No I don't. I have better things to kill my time.)

I'm like UnifiedBrain, I don't get any Daz newsletters, but I did get this Morph3D one. I guess it's random...

If that's the case (and you want the Daz Newsletters), open a support ticket and ask them to see if you're marked as unsubscribed.  They should be able to get that fixed for you.

Can unity be used without internet access and with still renders?  When I got the first email of morph3d I was tempted to go on a shopping spree lol till I realized it was for games and I don't create them

It's primarily for apps, game dev, and VR apps.  Your still renders won't tend to look as good as the ones from Iray.

I wish I wasn't getting the emails from them.  I was scared it was a virus or something and immediately deleted it.  It scared me.  I wish Daz would think things through.  I also thought since the Daz logo looked bastardized, it was gonna link to some torrent site and I didn't want any part of that.

I don't want to get those emails anymore.  How can we opt out of Daz sending them?

Ok thanks, no need to download it then lol

Same here. I have deliberatley opted out of Daz newsletters, so I'm surprised I got the one from Morph3D. I unsubscribed immediately

Considering how long it's been broken like this, isn't it about time the newsletter subscription system was fixed so we can select whether or not to recieve them?

You know, like it used to be in the previous incarnation of the DAZ website, the one that actually worked?

Morph3D news letters goes into my spam folder. I don't use Morph3D. I can't log into it with my daz account either &  I never ask daz to send me news letters on it. So it was pretty presumptuous of daz to spam me for something i was never signed up for.

SpottedKitty, I echo your sentiments. Choosing which newsletters to receive would be great, as I have no interest in Morph3D. I've submitted a ticket to unsubscribe. We'll see how far that goes...

Thanks for the info, Artini.  Daz ought to hire you!  I learned more from your two short posts than from their entire Morph3D site.

That said, it sounds interesting, and I wish Daz well in this venture.  Now if they would only throw Carrara a bone now and then...

I agree with you Ivy, I unsubscribed from it and it removed me from the daz sales emails and all of my forum threads ... but that could have been just another one of those wonderful joys of this forum software they use.

Did you file that help ticket??  I did and mine was sorted out and the account I unsubsrbied is now re-subscribed to Daz 3D but not to Morph 3d.   CS were very helpful

Oh, I signed up for an account at Morph3D to try their Beta MCS 2.0 SW yesterday. Maybe they will have a pipeline that I can export directly from DAZ Studio to MCS 2 / Unity soon! Unity will also have Otoy's Octane Renderer free by the way! DAZ Studio needs an export to MCS plugin that creates the LODs and such prep for use in MCS if it's anything more complex than just Decimating and deciding which morphs you want to export from D|S.
