Is it possible to change Genesis 3 textures to match the UV map of Genesis 2 using Blender? I remember seeing a process of doing it the other way (Genesis 2 to Genesis 3) before we had Texture Transformer from Blacksmith3D. I dont think TT has a plug-in to do it yet.

There is a thread on that, by Kattey I think, yes.
cayman studios has products in the store that let you use genesis 3 textures on genesis 2
yes I'm aware of Cayman Studios but I'd like not to have to use 3rd party elements on the figure to make the textures work.
Gotcha, well you can also use ultimate unwrap 3d to do this http://unwrap3d.com/u3d/tutorial_repaint_mesh.aspx
haven't tried it yet and not sure if you can use the trial version for it, but there is the option.
Richard, could you please post a link? I tried searching the forums and I didnt come up with anything. I got tons of topics on Blender but nothing even remotely related to what I was looking for.
FSMC, that looks similar to the Blender tutorial I saw some months ago (but for the life of me I cant remember where). I remember downloading those helper morphs. I'll have to look and see if I remembered to bookmark the tutorial. I hope I did.
damn I never thought to check UUW3D's tutorial pages
been trying to do this blindly for ages as knew it did vertex colours.
yes I have the pro version, use it mostly to polyreduce stuff and UV mapping
Here's the thread with j cade's method to convert G2F skins to G3F with Blender: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59665/tutorial-converting-textures-from-gen2-to-gen3/p1
Thanks Leana. Apparently I had bookmarked it. Just wasnt using the right search criteria. Is it just me or does the search feature of the forums leave something to be desired?
Given that I often use google to search the DAZ forums I'd say it's not just you ;)
How do you use Google to do that? What search criteria do you use?
Add site:www.daz3d.com/forums/ to the search terms
Cool. Figured it was something like that. Just didnt know how to write it so Google would do the search correctly.
