I'm thinking of picking up the Supersuit Bundle. Pros/Cons?

It's here, and it looks like it has a lot of stuff.

But it's Genesis (V5 & M5) and I mostly use Genesis 2 or 3 (V6 & 7, M6 & 7).

Do these work okay when converted to Genesis 2 or 3 figures?

The one thing I really liked about supersuit were the shaders but they are 3delight only which is too bad if you've made the move to iray

  • I have indeed, drat.  That's okay, I'm over $300 now anyway; got a ton of stuff to burn off some store credit.

Fitting the Supersuit to G2F can be a little tricky - I've encountered poke-through problems and needed Fit Control.  Some poke through problems occurred on the backs of the shoulders, where there are no Fit Control morphs.  Since the Supersuit's material zones have expand/recede morphs, these areas can be modified by a small measurement to adjust for the poke-through.

I haven't played with fitting Supersuit to G3F.

My only complaint about supersuit is that attempting to play with shaders can be sluggish because there are sooooo many material zones. And then attempting to change the shaders can be exhausting. That said, it's an awesome bundle with loads of options.

The Supersuit works pretty well with G2 and G3. The advantage is that because it was made for Genesis, it can be used for G2F, G2M, G3F, and G3M. My advice might be to bring the Supersuit into the scene and make any changes you want to it before parenting it to G2 or G3.

That said, I think the Supersuit is extremely flexible one you get used to it. It provides lots of options if you're more inclined to use material zones instead of texture maps. Plus there are SO many presets that it's great for non-superhero AND superhero scenes. And those Troopers can't be beat!

One great thing about the Supersuit product that I don't hear enough is it comes with a basic suit that still has the generic fitting options native to its Genesis 1 base. Although the material and morph zones are more limited, it's quite versatile in its own right while allowing you to play around before moving to the greater possibilities offered by its bigger brother. smiley

It also serves as an awesome fitting tool that offers a lot of options other stuff doesn't. That said, nowadays I prefer Ultrasuit to do that, but hey.

Basically, put supersuit on a figure, put clothing on the supersuit, hide the supersuit. Now you have all the supersuit morphs (and there are a lot of them) to play with.

Supersuit is one of those products that has much more than meets the eye. The 3DL shaders are pretty cool if you're not into Iray (and can be used without supersuit as well), and many of the preset suit shapes are very useful if you want to have some nice sci-fi flightsuits or fantasy armor. I've never had any trouble using supersuit on G2M or G2F because it is chock-full of morphs. For that reason, I use it on often as a partial armor base on oddly shaped monster figures like Troll and Ogora.

Supersuit goes way beyond the fan art-ish promos of superhero characters, if my rave hasn't tipped you off. :)

Someone did a series of informative YouTube videos on Supersuit a while back. It's must-see viewing because unless you learn how to tweak and shape the suit, you aren't making the most of it. I am less crazy about the utility belt, boots, or cape add-ons but that's because I use Supersuit more for non-superhero stuff.
