Technophilia - Easy-Pose?

Does anyone know if these are rigged for easy-pose?

They look as if Iray shaders could be applied simply enough.

Yes.  If you look at the product details, you'll notice some of the bullet points suffixed by the letters "EP" which is a convenient shorthand for "easy pose".

    Sincerely,

Will this work in Daz at all?

Other parts of that line do...they do need materials help, but otherwise work fine.

I'll have to try it next week when the very barren bank account revives.

    (assuming it's still on sale)

What do you mean by other parts, MJC? Are there components within it which don't? I was planning on just applying Iray shaders to them, but hadn't noticed it's Poser-only.

Actually, that probably means the DIM or Smart Content wouldn't install it right. Argh... Well, that means there's room for someone to make something similar with updated techniques and textures! :)

Who knows...next week it could be in the BYOB PC sale bundle...

But would Daz list it as installable via DIM and DAZ Connect if it didn't install correctly using those methods? (geniune question, not being sarcastic)

There's a whole set of Technophilia props....several are currently freebies.

They are all parametric rigged cr2/pp2 Poser items, most do have 'textures' as opposed to Poser procedurals.

OK, it was cheap enough to take a gamble on, so...

It shows up in Daz Studio. You have to expand the nodes to the first segment, which is usually named something like 'Base' or 'Head'. That's the part which shows the easy-pose dials in parameters.

The different heads and bases load in the right positions, but you have to manually parent them to whichever segment you want (which is going to be the first or last). Then they'll follow the movement of the arm (or, in the case of the base, I'm guessing you parent the arm to that and then parent the base to the figure/wall/whatever you want it to look like it's attached to).

You will always get asked for some kind of textures DS can't find. Just select 'stop asking' each time and go with it. The '.mc6' files seem to be the ones you can manually apply to it and some seem to work surprisingly well in Iray. Each section has a good selection of material zones! That means we should be able to apply shaders on the right areas. That opening eye even has individual material zones for the eye, iris and pupil! Should look very interesting with some emissive shaders around there.

In conclusion, it's a really nicely crafted product, which ultimately works fine in Daz Studio, so long as you keep the above in mind for placement and location. It also scales down without any issue in the tests I've run, which means those of us who were thinking of using the various combinations for cybernetic tails or prehensile robotic strands of hair should be able to do precisely that. :) That's something I've been wanting in the store for a long time, so am glad this shall let me do so.

Awesome! Definitely way up on my wishlist and hoping it stays reasonably cheap until next week.

I saw a post sometime in the past that seemed to be saying that DS had easy pose like capability built in. Any chain of similar bones would work.

Anybody know what was updated for Technophilia V1 Tentacles...the link to the ReadMe page doesn't work.

Yes I know what was supposed to be updated. The textures and obj files weren't properly loading . I submitted a ticket for it last week. The directory aliases were wrong. I haven't used it since my project recently to see if it was fixed.

Ah, that makes sense. I had to manually indicate the paths for the textures each time. I had chalked it up to it being an old Poser item, but if they fix it, that would be great. I'll test it out when I get a chance.
