Figure Axis Baselines (?) Change

I set a pose of a figure where I have rotated X, Y, or Z, and when I save and close, Y, for example no longer rotates around the figuure's Y axis as it did originally. Am I doing something wrong or not doing something I should? I resuse the same scene, moving figures for the next part of the "story" and that is when I find the axis changes take place. I'm no longer able to get the figure back in the center of the "box" (lack of knowing the proper term) so the axis changes work as expected. I try to set things that may alter the figure's axis such as a human's pelvis back to "0" first. I also noted that "Bend" and "Twist" often take a new "center" point on the slider. In other words, the original "0" 0r "natural" slider setting no longer sets the same post......the figure may be bent forward or back when I reopen the file with the slider on "0". I'm not sure if this is a "Feature" of the software I'll learn to work around or something I'm doing wrong.
Thanks again in advance and I hope this makes sense.
EDIT: Maybe my avatar in use when I posted this helps explain a little......

Did you use 'translate X, Y or Z' on the hip part of the figure? If so, then using rotate on the base of the figure will give the result you mentioned. personally, I don't use "translate" on the hip part when posing for this reason...
I may have unintentionally translated on the hip.... I'm trying to translate the entire figure, such as Victoria 7, for example. I click on "Victoria 7" and work with what I get there without selecting hip. Maybe they're one and the same, I'm not sure. Is there any other way to have the figures rotate on their axis without using "Translate"?
If you click on the figure then it is likely you do 'select' the part of the body you are clicking on, which could very well be the hip part (or the pelvis, abdomen, chest, just wereever you clicked). So if you have 'by accident' selected the hip and do a transalate along the x or z axis, you get the situation as you described in your 1st post. Remember, translate is not rotate. It is fine to use 'rotate' on the hip, but it is generally better not to use 'translate' on the hip. To select the whole figure, you better click on the figure in the 'scene' tab of DAZ|Studio.
When I click, I make sure only the "name" is highlighted, and nothing underneath like hip. I have accidentally translated or rotated a part of the figure and things certainly went downhill (Undo is my best friend!). I may simply be failing to keep the axis relative to the object in mind and causing myself needless confusion. When things get too bad, setting each Rotate parameter to 0 then seeing what happens seems to be the best way out.
