Wheeled vehicles to hover vehicles?
i'm lookin at the lovely vehicles in sale today,
brings back the age old question of converting wheeled vehicles to hover vehicles for scifi scenes?
wishing some of them had a hover under carriage option.
tried the greebles on the tire method, but my efforts don't look good.

Easy, hide the wheels and add some primitives to the underside
Repulsor field for the ESCoRTs?
greebles and nurnies can help with that

I still need to try out my 'cyborg dinosaur' idea with greebles...
Ooooh ooo aaaah
,
would those work on the Weazel? http://www.daz3d.com/escort-weazel
are any of those parts rigged?
like, the tail flaps, do they fold outward for an animation?
thanks!!
Sorry, all static props. They are optimally UV mapped and set as Poser props so you drop and drag.
If you play around with their hot points, though, it's possible to create 'pseudo' rigging.
That is, you could, say, limit the rotation range of certain objects, lock position shifts, etc. I've made folding chairs and other items using nothing but parenting and rotation/translation limits.
You DO have to do the work yourself, though.
I am a REALLY big fan of DzFire's Nurnies, Parts, and Pieces. I've completed many projects thanks to his fine work. Below is one flying car I created using a stock model car and his parts
.
i find that poser props translate well to carrara.
would love to see a hover concept for one of the ESCoRT suv/hummers
But we already have a cyborg dinosaur: http://www.daz3d.com/roborex-for-the-t-rex
GADS I did that long ago. Did you happen to notice the SKU? :D :P
Nice modeling.
Tom
Is there much call for this kind of Car?
I ask because I like modeling cars, almost as much as I like rigging things.
Tom
You may find a market. I like flying cars, but for utility vehicles, load movers, tanks, etc. I disagree with the design concept. Anything that must exert a force, or absorb one strikes me as a poor candidate for anti-gravity fields. My flying car (see above) was a proof-of-concept exercise and an entry into a contest on FB.
This isn't a sci-fi scene, but it easily could have been. It just used a normal car with hidden wheels and a few extra odds and ends for the hover conversion. Of course it's just a 2D render, if you needed animation and to be able to look at the underside it would be much harder.
those turbines would be kewl for an avengers-ish floaty type fortress. the inner part could rotate
Amy plans to make a set of rigged grebbles/part?
Here is one concept of a hover weasel. DzFire's Weasel with a hover engine designed with Nurnies, Parts, and Pieces (and a few primitives.)
