I noticed that and realised it was a typo/miss-spelling too. I don't think he's got much to be scared about at that size :) I have no need of a whale, but I did like the render of the woman with a parasol standing on his back. Neat.

laugh yep, I don't think (s)he's got much to fear.... still tempted though, no immediate need for it, but it sure is something different....

He's scared of whatever scarred him?

He's scared and scarred... A Rod Stewart song reference?

Or autocorrect messing with humanity once again?

    You decide!

Either way, I just hope the text is on a separate layer still.

Typos aside, sometimes, as in this case, I feel like the promos are so good, I could never do the product justice myself. I still bought him though, to go with the fabulous animated water. :)

Yes, but the way we treat them ..? crying

But, at least, he's safely waiting to swim into the freedom of my content library smiley

We don't report to the PA we send our reports to Daz.  AntFarm would probably respond to my tongue in cheek suggestion for an additional colour scheme by providing it.  laugh

Same. I'm going to pick this up when I can, but those promos are too fantastic. I'm almost at a loss as to where to do with the thing - I guess I'll have to put my thinking hat on.

Believe it or not it's a typo that was corrected and some how did not refresh so for now... lets us pray.

I think there is joke about scarred, scared, and sacred whales here, but I can't find it. devil Seriously awesome promos, regardless of how you spell it.

Ah so we aren't going to get any yellowbelly scared whales?

  • AntManAntMan Posts: 2,133

I could see a banana whale!

  • I couldn't have been happier to see this in the shop today!  I've been wanting a realistic looking whale like a humpback!  Thanks!  My favorite promo was the essence of Jaws classic, but the lady in the parasol was uber cool!

  • glaseyeglaseye Posts: 1,312

Well, typo or not, and no yellowbelly whale included cheeky, I guess the temptation was to great anyway...

(Now see if I can also get it to play nicely when exported to vue....adjusting the materials....)

I've been doing a bunch of aquatic images so it'd be perfect... but I'm so astonishingly past my budget I just can't. (sigh)

    Wishlist it is.

Man this looks great. makes me want to get it to do a render of it thrashing a whaling fleet to bits, LOL.

A very quick and simple render in Vue... material-adjustment in Vue is not exactly my strong point, so I guestimated some settings blush as such not yet the best, but it works quite well.....

    Great use of light!

Thank you, though I really need to do a crash course in vue material settings. Attaching the diffuse, normal, bump etc. maps is one thing, getting the settings right, that's another. As for the light, that's just the basic sun + vue underwater caustics. (I'm more used of doing aerial renders in Vue ...)

Don't look at me. My brain interpreted your post's title as "sacred humpback whale".

  • glaseyeglaseye Posts: 1,312

    Well, they're scarred now.... cheeky

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

I remember seeing the "scared" textures, and to tell the truth, I thought it was deliberate, considering The Antfarm's sense of humour LOL. Never even occured to me that it was a typo.
