OT: GTX 970 Class Action Lawsuit Settlement site now up

For those of you that have a GTX 970, the class action lawsuit was settled and owners (in the US) can receive $30 with proof of purchase.

I presume there's a fair amount of us that use the 970, considering it was one of the most affordable cards of the previous generation.

    Thanks.

I wonder how this works if the GTX 970 was part of a custom built computer I purchased and not a seperate item. I have a receipt for the computer but not for the GTX individually.

That's a good question. I'd contact the manufacturer and see whats up...

I just filled out my form. I think the custom build will work, just upload a copy of your invoice/reciept (where it shows the 970 was part of the build) and go to the nvidia control panel -> system info and get the card's ID to put into the form. You should be all go to go then.

Digging up this aging thread to ask if anyone's gotten their settlement from the suit

I've not recieved anything so far :(

I received two checks from the Red Bull settlement in the past few years and they take so long you'll likely forget you are due a check by the time you get the check.

Comparing the cost of a Red Bull (you got over $10 for even drinking one Red Bull) vs the cost of an nVidia card I would say the users of the nVidia 970 still got shafted.
