Well sort of ..
Since I have finally began to use 4.8
for "real "work I decided tp have a run at IRay even though I have no Nividia compliant GPU 
as an animator I rarely render stills but IRay on a non nividia GPU is not a total nightmare for simple portraits.
This clearly unfinished render of my CG self Avatar was stopped after 1 hour 42 minutes
It would have looked alot better after an overnight bake but I like the look of it nevertheless.
Time to grift some new hardware .

It looks very good and is a good likeness. I am teaching myself such things too. I want to create the 3D models of 1930s Bronx Bombers Yankees & Gas House Gang Cardinals.

I used the Genesis 2 male
with a combination of commercial morph packs on top of a custom sculpt in MODO.
The skin is the "Sol Elite" textures originally created for Mike4. but used on G2M via the UV switch.
Some seriously good sculpting then. If you ever did that beard & such in LAMH I'd be hardpressed to tell the difference between the photo & the picture.

Looking good! Amon for M6 might approximate your skintone and eyebrows a little better. In Iray, his skin matches yours very well.

Light skinned Black people ,like myself, the Actor/Rapper "IceT" or Homeland security Secretary Jeh johnson,
are sort of ignored by merchants and usually
have to Fudge some approximation with one of the slightly tanned Caucasion skin maps but that Amon looks about just right for me.
Its hard to see underneath my bi-focal frames
but I actually cloned out the painted in eyebrows
of the "Sol Elite" for Mike4, face map in photoshop and am using a free set of fiber mesh eyebrows from "lactis".

Some tech tips for those who are considering making Custom characters based on themselves with a Daz figure.
My personal advice is to not use typical "selfie"photos shot with those tiny lenses found in smart phones
and make sure you are not using the DEFAULT camera In Daz studio as they both have major "Fisheye" Distortion
caused by their limited field of view.
In fact the real photo of me posted here is a hand held Smart phone selfie and has major "Fisheye" Distortion
making my nose look bigger than it actually is...

In Daz Studio Always use a front view camera or an added Camera with perspective turned off when checking your progress on the fidelity of the likeness.
If all you have is a smart phone camera
( like most of us in 2016), shoot your reference photo
of you standing in front of a mirror like those "vanity selfies" that inundate "Instagram".
As far as photorealistic skin textures go, the only available Cafe au Lait, Honey, or Caramel ones I know of are from Raiya, Daz Originals, and Phoenix1966. Morris, Saiyaness, Virtual World, and chevybabe25 (Draupadi) also do a great job, although a little tweaking may be required. The problem, I'm told, is the lack of pigmented models for original hi definition photographs. I'm in the process of converting my numerous Gen 4, G1 & G2 skins (just the above mentioned artists) and face morphs to Genesis 3 so that I can stop complaining about the lack.

Yes to be fair I dont place the blame directly on the Daz/Poser merchants
as they are limited to what ever hi-res photo references to be had at 3Dsk and other sources.
If hispanic or light skinned Black people dont contribute ( for whatever reasons), then us Light skinned CG people at this end, just have to make do as best we can, thankfully we have the editing tools.

Here is my Old poser version based on the vestigial Daz Mike 2.
I was actually pretty happy with the Mike 2 likeness but obviously had to eventually create a Genesis based version to access the modern content &HD morph options.
That's a great looking character (M2). You might end up in one of my stories!

I often try to render darker-skinned characters mainly for the challenge.
(And also I get contrary about how infrequent such charactes are)

Just watched the movie clip! Wow I say. I LOVE it! I love the look of the skin, especially on the lady's face. Impressive indeed. And the story...now I want to see where this is headed. This is wonderful Star Trek. Awesome!!
